Hey Kumi,

I'm glad for you. Don't you just hate when you find a product you love
and they discontinue it? When I used to go to "Joe's Crab Shack" I used
to order a drink called "The Shack Attack". It tasted wonderful and
because it was like a tropical drink you did not taste all the alcoholic
beverages that were used to make it, therefore it's strength was very
decieving. All of a sudden the stopped offering it and removed it from
the drink menu. I attempted to get the receipe and they would not give
it out. I knew an employee who worked there but even she could not get
me the receipe, she said only a few people knew it and they used to
pre-mix it and pour it into like a softee disperser and fill the glasses
from it.

The best tasting seafood/cocktail sauce in the world is "Fishermans
Wharf Cocktail Sauce", of course that's my opinion. It is not readily
available in all grocery stores and two weeks ago I spent two days,
driving from store to store to find it. When I did I bought six (6)
bottles. Stores don't like to stock it because it is a little expersive,
but the taste is worth every penny, and it has to be continually
refridgerated due to the freshness of it and the lack of preservatives
used in it. I think that is why it tastes soooo good. I have found it at
a few Ralph's stores and a few Albertson's, Lucky used to carry it but
they went out of business. If you find it try it and let me know what
you think. I use it on my shrimp, all kinds, and on my crab dip. It's a
little sweet with a little spicy mixed in, but in the perfect
proportions.

Hi Susan,

Out of all the times I have been to Phoenix I have never seen or felt a
drop of rain. Plenty of lightning and thunder, but no rain. I must be
going in the wrong time of the year, usually around the 4th of July and
Christmas, when I am off work for a week or two at a time.

I'll watch the news and weather for the next one...

LHK... Katherine

Hi Katherine, This is Rosada. July is one of our regular rainy months of our
annual monsoon season, which begins in June, sometimes as early as May and
lasts up to August. These monsoon rains storms not only bring thunder and
lightning, but also flash flooding. It's really a sight to see. I'm surprised
you haven't gotten rain on your visits to Phoenix in July. You must have a
good connection with Mother Nature.

Hi Katherine!

I will look out for that Cocktail Sauce. I also love shrimp cocktail -
and it all depends on the sauce. We don't have any of those stores but
I will look locally in the refrigerated section. I remember seeing
some, but never looking closely at it.

I still like the shrimp cocktail at Golden Gate in downtown LV, but its
gone up to $3 p4 $4 a sundae sized cup. They make it when one orders
it, so its always fresh and not sitting in the cup in some refrigerator.
I think its still worth it, and its bay shrimp. The other is the jumbo
shrimp at the Bellagio buffet....but I go to the Bellagio buffet not for
the shrimp but for other items in the buffet - ie King Crab, Sea Bass,
Rack of Lamb...

There isn't a Joe's Crab Shack here. I was curious about that drink,
and they had on a few You-Tube videos of the drink at a Crab Shack, the
blue drink looks very similar to a variation of the Blue Lagoon Drink
using blue curacao.

There are two types of blue lagoon drinks that I know of.... and it may
NOT be the same thing at all....

1. lemon flavored rum, vodka, blue curacao, and sweet and sour mix.

2. spiced rum and light rum, sweet and sour mix (some use lemonade),
blue curacao.

The lemon cannot be too yellow, or it changes the blue to a greenish
blue color. One other variant used pineapple juice and that one turned
really green - as in more of a green lagoon drink. Both of the above
variants are mixed in a shaker, or poured over ice. By the content,
both will have similar taste because of the rum, sour mix, and blue
curacao.

The blood in that shark handled glass tube is supposed to be red
grenadine... either added at the end or by the person drinking the
drink.

If the blue lagoon is put into a slush making machine and the grenadine
added at the end - that really sounds good and a good twist on the
drink.

It would be like the daiquiris or margaritas - made at the La Bayou on
the FSE or at La Salsa.

I had a chocolate daquiri from the La Bayou downtown LV - its like
having a chocolate freeze drink with a alcohol kick, and was pretty
good.

One favorite for me is a good original NY style cheesecake (dessert and
not a guy). Its totally bad for me as in health. Yeah, they have a
frozen version at Costco, and there is the Cheesecake Factory, but if
its well made, or with any kind of topping, that is one bad weakness I
have ... California Pizza Kitchen has a excellent pumpkin cheesecake
starting around early Oct and it usually never makes it till
Thanksgiving. Main Street Station's buffet also had different
cheesecakes but I haven't been there in several years.

Hi Rosada,

Yes, Mother Nature and I had a fling together some years ago, she left
Father Time for me. Then the Tooth Fairy came along, looking like The
Rock, and she left me and chased after him. Also, it was hard trying to
keep up with the Easter Bunny in the sex department, you know how
rabbits are. The Sandman disappointed her because the only thing she
could get from him was sleep. The Blue Fairy was a lesbian and the star
at the end of her wand didn't vibrate and the points hurt like hell. All
Santa wanted to do was eat cookies, make up and look at lists. I'm sure
she'll come back to me when she gets through with the rest, she gets
around.

So I guess if you don't want the rain, call me and invite me out, LOL.

Hi Kumiko,

The drink "Shack Attack" was red with the consistancy of a slushie, It
kind of tasted like a Zombie only sweeter and better. I've been looking
online, and in those Secret Receipe books, for it but to no avail yet. I
am sure I will find it one day, might have to get it from someone in
heaven, or hell. LOL.

I don't know if you have a "Bubba Gumps" restaurant around you but if
you like shrimp cocktail they have a shrimp appitizer with about 20 to
25 shrimp, on ice, with a pretty good cocktail sauce for less than
$10.00 , which is a lot less than the cost of 5 or 6 shrimp you get at
most seafood places. They also have a selection of other foods beside
shrimp.

The "Fisherman's Wharf" cocktail sauce is just under $4.00 here for an 8
ounce jar, make sure to check the expiration date on it.

I'm more of an Apple Pie person than a cheesecake lover. However, if you
like carrot cake, the best one that I have ever found is the one they
sell at Sam's Club, it's around $14.00 but it is larger than the normal
cake, about 14" to 16" around and double layer. I pick one up for every
party at my house and always get positive comments on it and asked where
I got it from. There is usually none left at the end of the night.

Are you girls talking about the Shark Bite or the Shack Attack? Or Shark
Attack? I found recipe for the Shark Bite drink. You might want to
experiment. If it's like a zombie, then that might be a good place to
start. Then just add the ingredients you might think will give you the
same flavor or taste. It might take several attempts to find the right
mix. I'm sure you girls will enjoy this task. I know some people who can
taste something and give you a list of the flavors or ingredients in
that taste.

Good Gawd, gurl. It's seems you've been around. The only Fairy you
didn't mention was the Little Red One, you know the one that flys in
once a month and stays for a bout a week. But we don't have to worry
about her, at least I don't. LOL!
