Limo Tour

We are glad that most of the participants enjoyed the Limo Tour. I think
that Mary Beth had a good idea. Eleminate the 4 Queens from the schedule
and perhaps do some photos on the Fremont Street Location. It seems that
we enjoy the interaction with the people!

The Limo Tour is kind of difficult to produce. Because of the prices
involved, it is necessary for prepayment be made to the organizers as
they have to pre pay to the Limo Company. It would be an unreasonable
risk not to have prepayment. That is not the big problem however. The
hardest part is to match up exactly the number of riders with the number
of seats. If we have an empty seat, the price to everyone has been
unnecessarily high if it has not been prepaid. There are always ones who
sign up for an activity and then just do not show up. We expect that,
but for the Limo Tour, that is not acceptable. We pay for the available
seats whether they are used or not.

The next problem is to match up the riders that want to go in Limo with
their friends. So the matching up the avail able seats is compounded!
Much switching around must occur before everyone or most are satisfied,
all the time keeping in mind that the number of riders must match
exactly the number of seats.

At Diva 2003, the whole tour sat in front of a liquor store for about 20
minutes or so, while some went inside and selected their preferred
beverage. This was not acceptable, so beverage orders were accepted in
2004 and placed in the limos. This proved very difficult to manage as
last minute switching occoured and that left the drinks in the wrong
vehicle. It seemed that Champaghne was the much preferred beverage, so
this year that was the only alcohol offered. We did offer water and
sodas for those that do not use alcohol. They in effect subsidized the
alcohol to a certain extent as the price of the alcohol was figured in
the limo tour price.

With all the detail involved, the production does get a little stressful
and some feelings get hurt. All we can hope for is that as many as
possible have a good time.

We do believe that the Limo tour is a positive for the ones that ride,
for the ones that we interact with at our stops and for the drivers. We
do sincerely regret any inconvience or discomfort that anyone suffered.

Hugs to all,
Tootsye

Gina,

No no sis! I just wanted to explain why some feelings may have gotten
hurt. We were happy to do the activity. We enjoy it as much as anyone!

I had a wonderful Diva, even though I had to cut it short, again.

It seems that seeing the sights on the limo tour has become secondary to
having a reason to get the best outfit on, moving the party along and
maybe doing just a little "Outreach" to the unwary public. Would
anyone be in favor of leaving a 'thank you card' including a web link
with the folks we have a positive contact with? There's no reason for
us to go along with the What Happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas (WHIVSIV)
if it helps others understand we aren't predators out to steal their
children.

As the Coordinator[Madame of the Limo Tour--JoAnn] I have some thoughts
about which I would like to receive some feedback:

[1] Limo# and Route: If we have eight(8) limos again then I was thinking
we might make them into two(2) Groups with one group starting at Four
Queens or [somehere north] and the other Group of four(4) limos starting
at the south end. The only cross-over would be at Bellegio for both
Groups at the same time.

[2] Limos vs. Party Bus: I would still recommend having the having limos
and not a 'party bus' as suggested by the limo company... even if it is
less costly. Also having 4 or 6 in a limo gives the opportunity fun
conversation, especially after each stop.

[3] Beverage & Eats: It appears that champagne with nuts & prestels is
an 'ok' faire!! Don't think we anything additional.

[4] Maximum Number of Limos: We should not exceed the 8 limos, because I
believe it becomes

IMAO, the "Party Bus" would not be as much fun. It might be easier for
the limo company, but it would not be as intimate or enjoyable. There's
just something about the stretch limo -- the ambience and atmosphere --
that makes this activity what it is.

This was my second DLV and first Limo Tour. The limo tour was great,
even though our orignial Limo broke down and we missed the 4 Queens stop
before getting a replacement. I personally like having all of the limos
take the same course, so that we can all meet at each of the stops.

One of the highlights for me is being able to meet and greet with all of
the other limo gals (plus it makes quite an impact on the crowds). Also
I would keep the same style of limo and number of limos.

A couple of thoughts on the Limo Tour:

We should skip Freemont Street completely. I'd suggest more stops along
the strip, and add a stop at Rio or the Palms. It seems we always spend
too much time sitting in traffic jams trying to get to downtown. Once we
get there, it's out into the alley behind the 4 Queens, a photo, then
straight back into the car to try to make up the time. I'd rather
travel further south instead, to either the MGM or the Mandalay Bay.

The party bus is just a bad idea. Limos exude glamour and mystery (who's
inside?). Busses shout "conventioneers". 8 limos is a much more
impressive entrance than a bus (or, God help us, a stretch hummer).

Mary Beth
