Activity Highlite- Farewell Party

Postby Cami desiree » Thu Jan 23, 2014 9:02 am

As many of you know, we will be having our farewell party at Carmine's restaurant in the Caesars Forum Shops. It promises to be a great night. I have contacted a local comedian who is willing to come in for a 30 minute show. I have convinced him to do a tips only payment. However, he would like to be assured of at least $200. I just wanted to get some feedback on having him come and if coming up with the $200 will be difficult. If 40 people contribute $5 we would be able to cover it. It would be a great way to end the evening . What are your thoughts?

Let's do it! Especially if he can tailor his jokes to us. It's
healthy to not take oneself too seriously.

Ok, that's enough depth for today.

Hi.

I am all in for Carmines but do we really need entertainment on the last
night of the week?

I think socializing and collecting E mails etc' would be more
appropriate. Comics usually take 1 hour of time up and I would rather
spend that time socializing and making sure I don't forget to find a way
to stay in touch with a new friend or two..

Just a thought but if everyone is ok with a comedian then I will be
too.

I agree, than there a the wait to see him. And all lost because because
every ones got to pack and get home.

It takes about 3 hours time when you go to a show like this.

I've tried this a different gatherings, I wish I would have save the
time.

If you can get him / her I. The middle when we could use some slights.

Cami,

I'm good with having a comic. I'm not big on "involuntary audience
participation" comics, but I can hug the back of the room if he is :-)

Fact of the matter is, when we have music, you can still have a conversation and dance if you want to. When you have a speaker, even such as a comedian, it really interrupts the idea of saying good-byes and the time it takes to do so. Comedians are not low key, music can be.

BTW, what ever happened to the logistics pertaining to where we can park for Carmine's, how far is the walk and do we have to walk thru the Forum Shops to get there? Also do we get a full menu or is it strictly "family style"?

LOL, then you would have LOVED this "insult comic" we saw a few years back at Pinkfest. He was most definitely picking on the audience, although I could not get him to "bite" on the "Howdy Boys, Welcome to the Chicken Ranch" t-shirt I was wearing at the time. :) :)

He zeroed right in on one lady in the audience who was a flight attendant and quite, uh, boobish. :)

"Hey, I see you come with your own flotation device!"

"Be honest with me, how much did those cost ya?"

Thank you to the administrators for coming up with this idea for the Activity Highlites. I love it. In the past it wasn't always clear what an activity entailed.

Cheers,
