Hi Ladies,
The other day I happened to come across an old Star Trek b The Next
generation. The episode was titles Outcasts. Even though this episode
was related to people of a planet that were some of the residences were
different, I found the meaning to hit home in my heart.
As I watched I found many similarities to what I feel and how I think.
At the end of the episode the unique character person starts a
dissertation that goes something like this;
I am tired of lies!
I am female!
I was born this way; I have had those feelings and longings all my life.
It is not unnatural, I am not sick because I feel this way,.
I do not need to be helped, I do not need to be cured
What I need and what all those like me need, I need your understanding
and your compassion.
We have not injured you in anyway!
And yet we are scoured and attacked all because we are different.
What we do is no different than what you do, we talk, we laugh, we talk
about work, and we wonder what will happen to us when we get old.
We wonder about the future and cry with each other when things seem
hopeless. That is what we do, nothing different than what you do
And for that we are call misfits, deviants, and criminals.
What right do you have to punish us?
What right do you have to change us?
What makes you think that you can dictate how we feel, how we care and
how we love each other?
How
Let me know if any of this rings a Bell!
