Browsers (was DLV 2013 Photos)

So which browser should I be using. The kids use the computer on weekends and I don't want them to stumble on some of these things if you know what I mean. I've reset my password a million times since I don't want the computer remembering that.

First of all, what browser are you using, and do you like it other than maybe for some privacy concerns?

Instead of being concerned with a browser giving away secrets, I might suggest that you set up a separate user account for your kids, or even an account of his/her own for each of them. Then you can do what you want in your own user space, including surfing, bookmarks, and ...

If you have all guest users use an account other than yours, you can use the browser's password manager feature without having to worry about another user logging in to a site as you.

If you are looking for a browser (I assume you are using a Windows PC here) that gives you a good degree of privacy, I would suggest something like Firefox with the NoScript and Adblock Plus add-ons. Then set the "Do Not Track" option and disallow third-party cookies. Firefox will allow you to save passwords and it will not leak stored passwords between users.

Thanks so much I think I can figure out creating private accounts if they will use them and not probe around. They are both far more techie savvy than I. Computer is a 2 piece Vaio desk top. Internet browser is Fire Fox.
