I'm in! Most any night will be fine with me. I've been to both Steppenwolf and Royal George, which are in the same neighborhood.

I enjoyed that too. We had a good crowd there. It was actually the evening that I had planned on taking off for myself, but what I was doing ended up to not be very exciting, so I phoned and joined the group up there.

The elevator up (non-stop) is a thrill ride in itself and the restroom (of all places) gets you up close and personal to the window overlooking the lake.

We're very informal. Just write in (here) and say that you will be joining us. :)

We really don't have a formal registration or anything like that.

As the date approaches and the schedule is final, we'll be calling for RSVPs for a number of the activities. Be sure to respond to that message indicating the activities at which you will be joining us.

Contact phone numbers will be sent to all who respond affirmatively to any of the RSVPs.

We may have to agree to disagree on this. FanFair has always followed the convention model. Yes, it's in a tourist area but it is most definitely a convention.

Originally it was a Modified American Plan where hotel and two meals were bundled into the convention registration. It's still very facility-centric and has the "usual suspects" of a convention such as the presentation schedule, show/pageant, keynotes, RCB, etc.

I know for a fact that both Ousterhout and Bowers have presented at FanFair. There are others I'm sure.

I supposed it is if you can con them into giving you a "scholarship" for it. :)
