Another dynamite turnout!

Last night's gathering at Bahama Breeze was second to none! Big thanks to Bev, Katie, and Sara for putting it together; the Bahama Breeze staff for their excellent service and hospitality; and to the 100-some DLVers who filled every seat from the bar to the south gazebo.

Great entertainment too, but I did not catch the guitarist's name.

I think our after-party at Paris was the best crowd we've had so far for one of those!

I have to agree with you Annie! The Bahama Breeze continues to be a
comfortable, friendly and welcoming place for us to have our Farewell
dinner. If we can only get them for our Welcome Dinner celebration in
addition to the Farewell, would be great!

My only regret this year was that Susan couldn't be here to have a Classic R & R session.
Other than that It was a marvelous DLV. I just wish I could have attended more events.
Oh well, there's always next year and I heard a few girls talking about a mini-DLV in the fall.

A great thing can be overdone.

By that I mean--- Opening and closing at the same place could easily
create such a situation that neither event "excels"..

Just asking....is that what we want? That one excels or exceeds over the
other. I was thinking like a sandwich where both pieces of bread are
delicious, and therefore both events are fantastic, and the other events
whether they're fair, good, or great are sandwiched between these sure thing
events. If not at the same place, then we should consider a different option
for the Welcome Get Together/Dinner because we are outgrowing the Artisan. The
bartender addressed me as "sir" and appeared not to feel lie she did anything
wrong. I didn't say anything choosing to ket it slide that time, but imagine
if she said that to one of our newer gals. Also, they raised the price of a
mixed drink to $15.00 a glass of wine and $13.00 for gin and tonic which I
think shows a sense of greed on their part since earlier the same drinks
earlier were $10. $11. and $13. Needless to say Dennis was not a happy camper
and thought they were clearly taking advantage of us as a group!

Another great year and another letdown going back to work. :-) I can
only echo many comments. It is great to see those I have met before
and spend time catching up. It is great to meet first timers and get
to know them and maybe make new friends for life. There is no vacation
that could be as good to me. It isn't only fun and but is always
rewarding too.

So thank you for all the volunteers and to Annie and Joanne who are the
backbone of the whole thing. Annie, I will buy the Gallileo (sp?)
next year. I think this was also the first year I had great fun doing
one event while regretting not doing another at the same time frame.
Too many good choices is a great thing.

The Artisan was abusive in their drink pricing. I experienced everything
you and Dennis observed

Secondly, when a place becomes instinctive we need to think of new
alternatives for an Opening Event location.

So I say: "We march forward to new and better venues."

Hi

I also had a problem at the Artisan. I paid for my drinks with a fifty
and only recieved change for a twenty. Fortunately it was the only bill
that size in the till and recieved the correct change.
