Posting DLV pics

Postby docrobbysherry » Sat May 05, 2012 12:49 pm

I seem to recall posting pics of girls on the official DLV site. That members could view and ask to delete if they were in them and didn't like them. However, I don't see that photo option this year. Is it still possible to do that with our 2012 pics? Or, has that become too much work for the Committee and been omitted?

Actually we are testing the app in anticipation of the call for photos.

It will be very soon...

We're going to be automating the process a bit more this year.

You will not need to e-mail to request photo removal. There will be a button under each displayed photo to flag the photo for removal.

There will also be a button to recommend the photo for inclusion on the final DLV 2012 follow-up pages.

A few things that everyone can do to speed up the process are to get the photos in, and also to help us clear up those on the "missing in action" list, as we do need to get everyone counted before we can send out the staging area links.

From yesterday's general mailing. Look for it, it should be in your inbox:

DLV 2012 photo staging:

Early this coming week, everyone who was marked as "present" on our
DLV 2012 roster will receive a link to our photo staging area.

This allows you, as a DLV attendee, to pre-screen the submitted
photos and mark for removal any in which you appear and do not
wish to be included in the final DLV 2012 follow-up pages.

Please be expecting this and if you attended, please let us know if
you do not receive this by this coming Wednesday at the latest.
. . . . .

We take pride in the fact that Diva Las Vegas has the most complete
set of photographs of any of the major TG events, several times
over, going all the way back to our very early years.

We'll be automating the removal process this year. No longer will
you have to request removal by e-mail. There will be a "Mark this
photo for removal" button on each displayed photo.

This year we'll also have a "Like" button, for photos you definitely
want to see included in the final pages!

The review period will remain open until about August 15. There will
be a two-week warning when this is about to close

Hi Annie,

I don't feel it is fair to someone who likes the photo, but has to have
it deleted because someone else doesn't. I feel that, if possible, you
should just blank out the persons face who does not want to appear. No
reason for the other 1 to ? people in the photo to lose a pic that they
like themselves in. I know that it would probably be a lot of extra
work, but what the heck, you have got til next year to post, only I hope
it does not take that long. I could not attend due to health and
financial reasons, but if I did, and didn't want my pictures posted, I
would have stepped away when the camera(s) came out, so as not to
decrease the other ladies enjoyment. I hope I have not offended anyone
with this reply, I only was making a suggestion.

Love, Hugs and Kisses... Katherine

The number of photos for which a removal is requested has been very low over our history. It's been typically around 1% of the submitted photos. Most of those are obviously unflattering captures of mainly one individual. A few of them are multi-person captures where the attendee does not wish to appear in our follow-up pages.

We're making it a bit easier this year to request removal, so the percentage of removed photos will most likely be higher this year.

Our policy has always been, and there does not appear to be any desire to change this, that a request to remove an unwanted recognizable likeness trumps all other factors, and with very few exceptions is followed with few questions asked. If somebody does not like they way they look in a photo, then we don't want to use it.

The one exception is the large group photos. Those who don't want to be in those should not pose for them!

We want our people to feel comfortable attending DLV, and to not have any concerns about unwanted likenesses appearing in our media.

IMAO, a photo showing a blurred face or blacked-out eyes is incredibly tacky and is worse than no photo at all! Those have no purpose on our site! We've occasionally cropped out people, but due to the number of photos we get, we always get more than enough for a good collection without having to worry about those which are flagged for removal.

Great and wonderful reply, I am more aware of your proceedures for
handling deletions, I should have known you would have thoight of this
in the past but I am still unknowledgeable as to your operation. Thank
you for taking the time to explain it to me, I hope to be able to attend
next year... monies willing.

Love, Hugs and Kisses... Kat
