Phantom of the Opera question

If we want to sign up for Phantom of the Opera tickets, I see we
purchase our tickets on our own through the link on the DLV website (not
like the golf tourny where we send a coordinator the money) but are we
meeting somewhere as group first? or do we basically buy our own tickets
and go on our own?

Hello Cassandra,

This is Rosada. Dennis and I are coordinating the POTO event and no
plans have been made to meet for dinner before the show. I noticed that
Trevi is listed as the only dinner option that night. Trevi happens to
be pretty close to the Venetian where POTO is. Actually, it appears to
be diagonally across the Strip. With that said, the plan is for us to
meet in front of the theater before the show starts for any socializing
and photo taking. Therefore, dinner will be on your own. Since we are
staying on Boulder Highway in an RV park, we'll be eating somewhere in
that part of town, then heading onto the Venetian. Hope you can join us.
We've ben wanting to see POTO since last year.

Hi Rosada,

Seeing this show is perfect timing. It won't be around for next year's
DLV.

I just saw internet information on this show - that the Phantom of the
Opera Las Vegas

will be having its last showingon 9/2/2012. That got me by surprise.

It was in Las Vegas last year and Dennis and I wanted to see it then,
but went to see Celine instead. So I'm glad it was still there this
year. I din't know when it was wrapping so we figured we'd better see it
now. Kumi, have you seen it yet?

Hi Rosada

I haven't seen the LV production but I've seen it twice when it came to
our city several years ago. Andrew Lloyd Weber's music is awesome and
so was the special effects. I can just imagine how the LV stage effects
would be more spectacular. I won't go into detail and won't give it
away for those that haven't seen it yet but it a musical to see.

I've been to two other musicals written by Andrew Lloyd Weber that were
also excellent; Cats and Jesus Christ Superstar. All three are
excellent. And all three had at least one song that was in the top ten
of the pop music charts when the musicals first came out. I've since
gotten the musical DVDs.

I'm sure the LV version will be very good more so the opportunity to see
it enfemme mode.

Kumiko, are you still in Hawaii? You're on Oahu, correct? Just
wondering. You remember my sister-in-law Bobbi from Oahu. She
accompanied me on my first DLV back in 2001. Went on the Limo Tour. Tall
thing with real brown wavy hair. I think it was shoulder length. Just
curious if you've ever run into her or my brother. He's a transit worker
and drives "The Bus".

I've seen this twice, first the Broadway touring production, and then the current Las Vegas production.

The opening effect (I won't give it away) is far more spectacular in the Las Vegas production! It almost seems like you will get hit if you are sitting mid-way back in the center.

The Las Vegas production is somewhat abridged. They say all of the music is in there, but I could swear that the reprise of Music Of The Night is cut short. The Las Vegas production also runs in one act with no intermission.

It is a very good show!

The first time I saw this, around 10 years ago, it was playing at the
Pantages Theater in Hollywood. Not to let anything out to the girls that
haven't seen it yet, but to those that have, when the big bang happened
the show stopped shortly there after, the Paramedics can in, and took an
older gentleman away on a stretcher. The shock gave him a heart attack.
Don't know if he made it or not. It's not something I think they would
advertise.
