Pinkfest schedule idea

I just got home from Chicago where I was able to do some driving around
checking out the various locations mentioned for Pinkfest as well as
taking some time to check out the shopping. Traffic downtown was really
heavy and difficult at times to get around with lots of construction
going on. I will definitely park my car at the hotel and use cabs
whenever possible. I went to Water Tower Place to shop. Parking cost me
$21.

I also went to Navy Pier to look around. Parking cost $20 there. I had
mentioned to Annie the idea of a lunch at Navy Pier at Margarittaville
and wanted to check it out. It is a great place and would be fun for an
outing for the girls. I also looked at the mini golf course as an added
activity during the afternoon while on Navy Pier. They have a nice
little layout. It is outside so it would be a 'weather permitting'
activity. Cost for mini golf was only $5. Not sure if any of this will
be added to the schedule but might be a nice alternative to the
"culture" activities. The Navy Pier is a fun place to walk around with
lots to do. If the weather is good I would enjoy an afternoon there (it
rained today).

I located the Best Western River North. It is easy to find and a nice
location. The Howard Johnson River North that I have stayed at before is
only 5 blocks north of BWRN so anyone staying there will also be
conveniently located. The HoJo room rates are around $95. The place is
nothing fancy=2C just a room close to activities at an inexpensive rate.

I know that cab costs can add up quickly but the time I spent looking
for parking lots and the cost to use them also added up quickly and cost
me precious time. So in my mind it's a wash with the nod going to cabs
for the door to door service availability.

Hope to see everyone at Pinkfest.

We looked at the Navy pier for some activities, but we are just too late
in the season. Some restaurants and a few other indoor things are open,
but if we went it would likely just be for lunch and nothing else seemed
to fit with it. Given the inclement weather that sometimes occurs it
just seems to late in the season. We have had wonderful weather and
awful weather. You never know and to me that is part of what makes this
trip fun. One year we actually had snow! For a girl from the south that
was interesting!

Say, maybe someone - like June LaTrobe - could do an informal tour of
the Center on Halsted on Saturday. It is very impressive.

I think it is the best in the country.

How about this. Let's make a slight schedule adjustment to allow this. For some reason we have the wrong start time for TransCinema. I'll adjust this to 6:30pm, which is the Center's posted start time, and put in a detail line for the tour at 5:30pm.

I would take the tour again. It's very well worth the time.

They do have a center to be proud of. As I (think I) said, it totally eclipses the various centers I've known. Huge modern facility, well-equipped, very active and upbeat. The Chicago community is very lucky to have it!

Thank you Miss Wright. I do agree that it is impressive. It would be my
pleasure to give a tour.
