Crews'n Talent show/Sassy to Classy

Densie mentioned in a post, how much she liked music and plays guitar. Annie also dabbles with it, so how about showing it off at the talent show Wed. 4-6 @ Crews'n. it starts at 9pm & goes until whenever, so you don't have to be there for the whole thing. Please contact me or Suzy at bobbiemlv@yahoo.com or Suzynylv@yahoo.com
We just need to know what you are going to do and approx. how long you want to do it. Remember, evryone has talent, so come and show it off!!

Also remember the dress code is no nudity. Any other form of dress is ok; costumes, 6" mini's, ball gowns etc. :)

The only instrument I use on stage is a mic. I use a guitar, violin and keyboard (soft synth) for producing backing tracks, but I don't play them live. I don't have that much confidence, or, to be painfully honest, that much talent with them.

However, I would be happy to go on stage if there is a sound system that can play audio CDs, and a mic, or I can bring my own mic if there is a place to plug one in. I carry my karaoke CDs everywhere I go, and they will play just like ordinary audio CDs.

Compact discs are ok. We have a player and an amp you can plug into. This is just a player, not a karaoke machine, so you should know the words or print them out as sheet music. :D

I'll be there to lyp-sync a couple of numbers. I'll be bringing a CD to pop
into the player.

That's no problem. I have my best songs memorized. Is there a time limit, or a timeframe that we should shoot for? I have some good stuff in the three to four-minute ballpark. The longest song that I might do is six and a half minutes.

Do I need to bring my own mic, DAC box or reverb unit?

As have a monolith(about 4' hi) amp with 6 plug-ins and a cd player. Crews'n is supposed to supplying 2 mics. Having a 3rd one wouldn't hurt.

As for Milli Vanilli, remember they made a lot of money before they were caught. At least Rosada is honest about it. Of course we could always give her a mic that you have to shut off the volume at the amp LOL

I was just thinking that a little bit of reverb, EQ and compression makes my voice sound a whole lot better. Karaoke machines usually do all of this, although the singer doesn't always realize it. Sometimes they just think they have talent, which only comes out when they are at the karaoke bar. :)

I could bring my laptop with ProTools loaded up, and I can pipe out of my Mbox2 into your system, but if you have a reasonable good setup already, I wouldn't go to the trouble to do all of that. Just hand me the mic and I'll sing my heart out and hope for the best.

If I could carry a tune, I'd be doing the real thing, believe me. But
since I can't, I have to do the Drag Queen thing by Lyp-Sync.
