Alice.

That's great news. We need to start a DLV oldies club. *lol*. Or even a
TV show called "The Golden Girls". How inspirational is that?

See you in a week!

Huggers. Katie.

I'm very much interested in meeting anyone who is going to have a Suburban there! :)

We plan to get a rental car, but just for the first couple of days, the early Rocky Horror show Saturday, the Sunday stuff, then we'll turn in the car when we do air tours on Monday, and we'll have to get a ride back to the strip from the airport. The rest of the week will be bumming rides, taking the monorail, and getting a cab, none of which should be too expensive, especially compared to the rising cost of today's DUI arrest.

I hear you there!

That's one of the reasons I quit renting a car at DLV.

I've been stopped in two of those stupid DUI checkpoints over the years in Las Vegas. Fortunately I was cold sober at the time!

I've found that the cost of the rental car plus the nuisance fees easily pays for a Monorail pass and a few taxi rides per day. I also don't have to worry about parking or getting busted for DUI.

Well, I remember back in the "annie van" days, when you hit a pedestrian staggering across the parking lot of the Sahara. I was worried about it turning into a nasty event, until you started in yelling at the pedestrian, and then I was worried about it turning into a murder. You were right, of course, that person had no business staggering blindly into the path of a moving vehicle, but the whole thing is much funnier than it could have turned out to be if law enforcement had gotten involved...almost as funny as you answering my "cell phone" the year I was staying at the Silverton.

I didn't hit him. He staggered right into the front of the van, and both I and the Sahara doorkeeper gave him hell for it!

I was concerned about him being one of those scammers who forces a bounce off of a fender and tries to collect on insurance. (I was well-covered. In the "annie van" days I took out supplementary liability and medical coverage for passengers.) It turned out that he was totally drunk and just stumbled into the van in a stupor.

LOL, and Ginger always likes to remind me of when I got yelled at by a cop at the airport when I almost walked right into traffic!
