Golf Attire

Postby JillHill » Mon Mar 21, 2011 8:50 pm

I have read the dress requirements from the Desert Rose web site. But, I still have questions that some of you may be able to help me with.

One, they require soft spikes which i have. But, they are male and I do not wish to buy a pair for once a year in female shoes. Some courses that have this requirement will allow tennis shoes. Will the Desert Rose allow athlecic or tennis shoes to be worn on the course.

Two. They were very explecit about not allowing shirts without collars to be worn. But they dont mention sleeve length. I have a collar button up blouse but has very very short sleeves. Will they allow this?

Additionally, Some have said they have extra clubs to bring. Might any of those be left handed clubs. I could use them. I can rent them, but it is almost as expensive as the golfing itself. Not a big deal but thought I would ask.

Thanks for any input, Jill

Jill,

For the best idea of what people wear at Desert Rose, I'd suggest
looking at the photo archive from last year. There are a lot of photos,
showing everyone who played. That said, I don't think very short
sleeves would be an issue.

As for tennis shoes versus golf shoes, I don't think that's an
issue,=20 either. Just no hard spikes. But I haven't seen anyone wear
hard spikes in years.

So far, nobody has volunteered an extra set of left-handed clubs.
Sorry about that. Anyone have an extra set?

Hope this helps,

Danielle

Danielle, thank so much. The info was so helpful. I think I will be ok. I had thought about wearing capri style pants, but seeing on the lovely ladies in skirts, i may try to find a short skirt. It will be fun.

That's the spirit! The vast majority of golf skirts, if not all, are actually "skorts" made of fairly stretchy athletic fabric. They're designed both for freedom of movement and a reasonable degree of modesty where the average short skirt wouldn't always be practical (picture a situation where you need to plant one foot in a bunker with another outside!)

Whatever your chosen attire, enjoy.
