I would also like to add my Thanks to all on the DLVorg group that
helped to make DLV'03 a huge success
Denver Feedback that I think is worth saying (and Annie, this might be
worthwhile to add to the DLVDisc group, if you can copy over to
DLVDisc).
I was out tonight at a local GLBT popular bar in Denver to meet two sisters
that had never been out before in public let alone a GLBT club. Wthin 5
minutes of being there, a sister tapped me on the shoulder and said 'Remember
Me?" That sister was Kristi who attended her first DLV a few weeks ago.
She and two other local sisters told me what a great time they had at
DLV'03. These sisters told me tonight that they had never had a better
time out in a long time. I first met these sisters at the Colorado Gold
Rush'03 held approx. 8 weeks prior to DLV and suggested that they
attend DLV'03. They took the time, $'s and effort to attend. These
sisters assured me that they would be back for DLV'04. Tonite, these
Denver sisters also asked me to relay to the DLVOrg group what a great
job we did, not only for the Denver sisters attending, but for all the
sisters that attended DLV'03. The Denver sisters that attended DLV'03
developed friendships that will last for a long time to come. These
sisters asked me to relay this to ya'll.
Personally speaking, Wow, what validation. I know that we are doing
something right here with DLV.
Final words for DLV'03...overall we had the best DLV I've ever attended
and have been been associated with. I'm already looking forward to
DLV'04. Yes girls, we had a few hiccups, but overall, the positives
highly outweighed the negatives. I asked our Denver attendees if they
had any complaints with DLV'03. The answer was NO. I asked them about
dress styles, embarrassment, restroom issues, and again the answer was
NO. Of course, this is not an overall view or a scientific poll, but I
believe what I heard tonight is just an overall view and feedback that
I've been reading thru DLVDisc.
This is not meant to downplay the concerns and issues that were raised
to Annie, myself, and other DLVOrg sisters during DLV'03. After hearing
and reading the feedback from DLV'03, for the time being, let's not
have a knee-jerk reaction to those 'few bad apples' in the bushel. I'll
be very interested to see the survey results in a the next week or so
and compare the survey responses to the DLVDisc post-DLV'03 comments,
the private emails I've received, and what I've heard from the Denver
contingent this evening.
After digesting all of this info, we will be in the DLVOrg group to be
better informed to plan an AB FAB DLV'04. It's time to move forward and
plan for DLV'04. Are we there yet (an Area 51 inside joke)?
Huggs,
Monique
