Dance night question ...

At DLV 2001, I went out dressed to Studio 54, Club Rio, Voodoo Lounge,
and House of Blues. No problems at any of them. I like dancing at the
"straight" bars since I'm more interested in meeting straight women
than gay men.

Have you been to ADAM yourself? I saw an online reference in a Las
Vegas journal article that described ADAM as an after-hours very
late-night event on Tuesdays. That didn't sound right, so I called them
and listened to their recording (they weren't open yet) and they
indicate that for ADAM (as most nights) their doors open at 11 PM with
free drinks until midnight. with house music on one dance floor and
hip-hop on another. Since I personally define after-hours as starting
at like 4 AM and going until sunrise, this isn't after-hours to me, but
is instead normal hours for a dance club.

I definitely saw numerous references at several Web sites to ADAM as a
gay/alternative night, so it seems to be clearly known that way. Of
course, I saw many more references to Club SRO that didn't even mention
ADAM, so I would expect straights to also stumble in. Michelle, what
have you seen on the nights you've attended?

Well, I would have to disagree here. In past years at DLV, we've always
attracted considerable attention (some negative) when we've paraded
through or congregated in hotel and casino areas for mainstream shows
(Trop, Riviera, Frontier, Plaza, etc.). The average DLV girl is
mid-40s, slightly overweight, and doesn't pass. This girl (and
particularly a large group of them) is not going to fit in well at a
straight dance club full of het men/couples on a crowded night.

It's unlikely these girls would have a good time or find anybody to
dance with of any gender. Given the level of experience of this
prototypical DLV girl, it's also unlikely she would even show up for
this. We've had a hard enough time over the last 5 years getting DLV
girls to shake off their inhibitions enough to come out to t-friendly
places like Gipsy. We've really only gotten significant numbers in the
last 2 years.

Since there are a few DLV girls who pass well enough and/or are
experienced enough to go the straight club route, perhaps you would want
to propose and sponsor a 2nd track to our Friday Dance Night that goes
to a straight dance club?

House of Blues at Mandalay Bay, on Saturday nights, Boogie Knights in
concert. $15 admission. Very retro. I want to check it out myself.

Well, I've never gone to a straight night club while "dressed" and I
would like to experience it.

But going alone scares me. I would be more comfortable going with
others from the group.

Yes! I'll see you there Rosa. Maybe we can have other T-girls join us

I'M WITH YOU I LOVE TO DANCE, EXCEPT I LOVE MEN. I'VE NEVER BEEN BUT I'D
SURE LIKE TO EXPERIENCE GOING TO A STRAIGHT NIGHT CLUB "DRESSED".
PERHAPS WE CAN GET TOGETHER AND GO OR SEE IF WE CAN GET A GROUP TOGETHER
WHO ALSO WANTS TO TRY THIS, EACH OF DANCING WITH OUR PREFERRED DANCE
PARTNERS, OF COURSE.

I REALLY DON'T WANT TO DANCE WITH WOMEN, BUT I GUESS I CAN BE OPEN TO
THE IDEA IF I DON'T GET ASK TO DANCE BY THE MALE GENDER. I'M DRESSED AS
