Will be coming for the first time in 2011. I don't have enough vacation
time to take the whole work week. Could do either Sun to Wed (day) or

Yes, two lines of thought here ...

My main suggestion is to hold off on this decision until some of the "anchor" activities are firm on our schedule, which should be within the next month or so. Then decide what appeals to you more.

Two large maximum-attendance gatherings are planned, and the tentative evenings for these will be Monday and Friday, but these are not solid.

Another consideration is how much true mainstream public exposure experience you have and how much support, if any, you will need WRT appearing in mainstream public and becoming comfortable doing so. Historically, the more opportunities for support along this line have come toward the beginning of the week.

Yeah. Take unpaid leave for the rest of the week, so you can do the
whole thing.
