Two weeks to go:

We're getting very close, gang!

Lots of important information in this mailing and a number of changes to
the schedule. Please read carefully.

If you would like to attend, but you have not made any arrangements,
it is getting very close to last call. ... Here's what you need to do:

1. Register. Registration closes April 28. That's one week from this
coming Wednesday. Register at http://www.geekbabe.com/dlv/reg2004.html

Don't delay in validating your registration. Very important!

2. Make your hotel and travel arrangements. Notes on our suggested
hotels appear at: http://www.geekbabe.com/dlv/dlv2004/2004hotels.html

Sahara is still showing space available for all DLV days, but the DLV
weekend is now up to $109 per day with $52 for the weekdays.

San Remo has varied availability and pricing over the DLV period, from
$55 up to $229.

If you have any difficulty finding a hotel room, or a room you can
afford, you might contact the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors
Authority at 1-877-VISITLV as they will know who has rooms available
for DLV week, and who has the lower priced rooms.

3. Make your activity selections. You will get your activity selection
e-mail shortly after your registration is validated.

All correspondence received by Saturday is now caught up. If you wrote
in and did not get a response, please resend.

All resends of missing items such as activity sign-up mailings have been
sent. If you asked for something and have not received, please say so.

Latest numbers:

As of this day we have 106 reconfirmed registrations. Turnout
projection, if registrations were to stop right now, would be
between 99 and 127 attendees total.

No outstanding validations as of this time. Good show, gang! We
appreciate the understanding and cooperation.

Schedule changes and updates:

A number of important schedule changes and timing adjustments have taken
place over the past week or so. Please review the working schedule
below. Here are some highlights of the more significant changed items.

IF YOU REQUESTED AND RECEIVED AN ADVANCE COPY OF YOUR ITINERARY, OR AN
ADVANCE COPY OF THE DETAILED SCHEDULE, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU
DOUBLE-CHECK DATES AND TIMES, AS THEY MAY BE INACCURATE ON YOUR ADVANCE
COPY.

1. The LV Metropolitan Community Church service is at 10:00am as opposed
to what appeared on our schedule before. We will now plan to meet at
about 9:45am outside the main sanctuary on Sunday morning, May 2, just
prior to the service.

2. Star Trek Experience does not open until 11:00. The time on the
schedule has been adjusted.

3. The additional lunch after Star Trek will now take place at Quarks
Bar at the LV Hilton, just outside the Star Trek exhibit. The ongoing
Lunch With/out Ginger will take place as usual on Wednesday as
scheduled.

See upcoming notice for rescheduling of the Bellagio lunch.

4. The show Ovation replaces V on Thursday evening, as was noted in the
special mailing last week. Show time is 7:00pm. Meet at the entrance to
the Ovation Theater at 6:45pm. See highlights on Ovation below.

5. The Limo Tour time has been rescheduled to begin at 8:50pm on
Thursday evening. The departure location has been changed to the main
entrance of the Aladdin Hotel and Casino. See additional limo notes
below.

6. The Hidden Woman Open House, originally scheduled for Wednesday
afternoon has been cancelled.

7. English High Tea has been rescheduled to 2:00pm Friday. There has
been a price reduction from what was posted on the sign-up page. See
High Tea Notes below.

Although we intend this to be our last major adjustment to the schedule,
unforseen curcumstances may require additional changes. Please pay close
attention to the working schedule (in each general mailing) and the
announcements between now and DLV.

Large Final Mailing:

Toward the beginning of next week (week of April 26) we will be
sending out what we call our Large Final Mailing to everybody who
holds validated and reconfirmed registrations. This is very important,
and will contain almost all of the information that's available about
the week to come.

If you hold a validated registration and do not receive this by
Wednesday, April 28, something is wrong, please let us know.

Diva Las Vegas is as paperless as we can make it.

Yes, at other T* gatherings, when you check in they will hand you a bale
of dead trees.

This will not be the case at DLV.

All of the various schedules, maps, lists, etc. will be sent to you in
the Large Final Mailing. It will then be up to you to print out the
items that you think you will need and take them with you.

The Large Final Mailing will contain:

. Local contact information and check-in instructions.
. Your personalized final confirmation and itinerary.
. Final detailed schedule of activities.
. Very detailed directions to all activities.
. Link to maps and photos of activity venues.
. Notes on dress suggestions, general and activity-specific.
. Detailed behavior and restroom guidelines.
. List of volunteer drivers and people who need rides.
. Photography information.
. Misc. notes and last minute information.

Ovation, The Show:

Each of our general mailings features one of our activities in detail.
This week we feature Ovation, The Show, which we will attend on Thursday
of DLV week.

Ovation replaces the show "V" in the DLV lineup, since "V" (and one
other show as well) lost their lease to the Venetian showroom as of
April 30.

Ovation is best described as a high-energy Las Vegas variety show. This
show was co-founded by David Saxe (Melinda, Showgirls Of Magic, "V",
etc.) and Johnny Stuart (Legends In Concert), and features cutting-edge
variety acts of all types. It has been described as very similar to the
"V" show.

As Nora writes:

We will be attending the 7:00pm performance of Ovation. Both general
admission and VIP seats are available. In order to be seated with the
DLV group, payment must be received by Tuesday of DLV week. Please
e-mail dlv@geekbabe.com if you will not be arriving by Tuesday and
need prepayment instructions.

There is an additional dinner option prior to the 7:00pm show. See Aiko
in person at DLV or e-mail dlv@geekbabe.com if you are interested in
this option. This includes an open bar!

Please also note that the time (now 8:50pm) of and the starting location
(now the Aladdin main entrance) of the Limo Tour have been adjusted due
to this change.

I hope all of you will join me in thanking Aiko for taking quick action
and handling the Ovation show arrangements in a very efficient manner
and as seamlessly as possible.

Limo Tour items:

As noted above, the time of Thursday's Limo Tour has been changed to
8:50pm and the departure location has been changed to the main entrance
of the Aladdin Hotel and Casino. Those not attending the Ovation show
should be at the Aladdin main entrance at 8:50pm.

A number of checks/MO's have come in for Limo Tour payments which do not
easily correlate to names appearing on our roster. If you sent in a
check or MO, it would be appreciated if you would please e-mail
dlv@geekbabe.com and state both the name that appears on your check/MO
and the name and/or registration number of your DLV registration.

Now the fun part! :) We need some feedback regarding what limo tour
riders wish to drink. Limo riders, please send in your suggestions for
beverages to be stocked in the limos, both general and specific.

High Tea updates:

The arrangements for Friday's English High Tea have been finalized.

This will be a private affair in Tricia's Tea Room at 2:00pm on Friday,
May 7. This is an elegant tea room in a rather unusual setting. Map and
explicit directions will be sent out in the Large Final Mailing.

Cost will be $23.25 per person, cash only, please, including tax and
gratuity. Sign-up is required.

No cancellations after Tuesday, May 4. If you will not be arriving at
DLV until after Tuesday, please e-mail dlv@geekbabe.com for prepayment
instructions.

Please note: Our hostesses have put up a substantial deposit OUT OF
THEIR OWN POCKETS in order to make this activity happen. Your sign-up is
a reservation, and your attendance and payment will be expected. Please
cancel by updating your activity selections if you no longer wish to
participate. Any no-shows will be VERY ASSERTIVELY contacted for
payment.

Mindy reminds us that they have arranged for the guitar player to be
there *light jazz* at no extra cost to us so please remember to tip him.

One side note, some may have noticed the "full" sign on this activity at
activity sign-up time. This was prior to the capacity of the tea room
being known. Everybody who signed up is now on the confirmed list, and
there is still plenty of space left as of this mailing.

Rides to early DLV activities:

For those of you who will not have a vehicle and do not have any other
means of transportation to your first DLV activity (at which you can
make contact with volunteer drivers) we want to be sure we can get a
volunteer driver standing by to give you a ride.

Rides will almost always be available, and our volunteer drivers are
usually quite willing to give you a ride, but there are two cases where
a request for a ride will not be welcome:

1. If you wait until the last minute to request a ride. (If you phone
the DLV contact numbers trying to get a ride at short notice, you will
almost always be told to take a taxi.) Sorry to keep rubbing this one
in, but it's been a point of contention since the early days of DLV.

2. If you are running late. It's very obvious that if you cause your
driver (and other passengers) to be late to something, he or she will
not be as willing to give you (or others) a ride in the future.

We want to make things as easy as possible on those who need a ride but
have not yet been matched up with a driver(s), and we also want to make
things easy on our volunteer drivers who go out of their way to help out
others during DLV.

Therefore, if you know that you will be needing a ride to your first DLV
activity and you do not have contact information for a driver, please
e-mail a short note (dlv@geekbabe.com) giving us the following:

1. Your name (obviously).

2. What will be your first DLV activity? (The one prior to meeting any
volunteer drivers in person.)

3. Where will you be staying? ("Don't know yet" is, unfortunately not
an acceptable answer here.) :)

4. How can we get in touch with you in Las Vegas if we need to? Cell
phone, pager, hotel (who should we ask for?) etc.

5. What will be your preferred pick-up time and location?

Deadlines and cutoffs (updated):

Thursday, April 22 (this coming Thursday) is the postmark deadline for
prepayment for the Limo Tour by postal mail. This is only necessary if
you will not be arriving before Wednesday of DLV week.

Sunday, April 26, is the last day to register (or to edit your
registration) to appear on the lists of volunteer drivers or those who
need rides which will appear in the Large Final Mailing. This is also
the deadline for all other LFM material.

Tuesday, April 27 is the deadline for payment for golf. See golf list

Wednesday, April 28, 2359 CDT is the deadline for DLV 2004 registration.

This is also the deadline for all activity sign-ups and changes.
(Activity sign-ups and changes made after Sunday, April 26, will not
appear on your final itinerary.)

This is the deadline for Big Sister requests via e-mail as well. Big
Sister support will be available in person at DLV, but cannot be
requested in advance after this date.

Friday, April 30, 0800 CDT, is the deadline for registration validation.
This is a drop-dead cutoff. Registrations which have not been properly
validated by this time will be cancelled.

Friday, April 30, is the deadline for all routine correspondence that
requires a response prior to DLV. All non-emergency e-mail received
after April 30 will be held until after DLV.

Monday, May 3, is the deadline to pick up your "token" if you are on the
confirmed list for the Night Of The Soiled Doves side trip. Any tokens
unclaimed on Tuesday morning will be released to the waiting list. See
mailings for time and location of unclaimed token distribution.

Tuesday, May 4, is the deadline for payment for group seating for
Thursday's Ovation show. If you want to sit with the DLV group for this
show, payment must be received no later than Tuesday. Payment may be

Tuesday, May 4, is the deadline for payment for the Limo Tour. Spaces
not claimed by Wednesday will be released to the waiting list. Payment
