Latest updates:
Welcome to those who just joined the list. Hope to see you with us in
April. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.
Please be sure to read the kick-off mailing which gives quite a bit
of information on things going on and what to expect. It's archived
on the web at:
http://www.geekbabe.com/annie/dlv06arc/0006.html
. . . . .
Registration for newcomers who are receiving this list begins on
February 1, about 2 weeks away.
. . . . .
All DLV correspondence should be caught up as of this time. If you sent
in anything that requires a response and have not received one, please
resend, as e-mail is not a perfect medium.
. . . . .
Several people wrote in about the from-scratch returnee registration
screen having the wrong dates to choose from. Sorry 'bout that. This has
been corrected.
If you registered using the from-scratch returnee screen, please go
back in and be sure your arrival and departure dates are correct.
. . . . .
A very important note about registration:
If you register and don't receive anything via e-mail shortly after,
something is wrong and we need to find out what happened. See note below
(particularly if you use AOL for e-mail) and check your spam folders to
be sure that our mail is not being mis-classified as spam.
. . . . .
As of this mailing we have 48 people registered to attend. Not bad at
all for returnee registration only being open one week! :) All signs
are pointing toward a very good turnout this April!

Latest dress and activity items:
For DLV 2006, the weekly (most weeks, anyway) activity highlights and
dress items will be moved to the DLV Discussion Forum and the links
will be posted here in the general mailings.

AOL registration note:

Thanks for letting us know about this, Michelle.
Spam blockers do have frequent false positives. My guess on what has
happened is that the mailings from DLV will almost always have one or
more links to the www.geekbabe.com web site, which is classified by many
of those web site rating services as having "Mature" or even "Adult"
content.
If your spam blocker considers e-mail with a URL that points to a site
holding those ratings as spam, yes, it may be misclassified.
Most spam blockers do have a facility to re-classify false positives
as non-spam.
What I suggest is to place the address dlv@geekbabe.com on your personal
"white list" to reduce the chance of our mailings being classified as
spam.

Golf:
One of the highlights of DLV for many of our people is the Diva
Las Vegas Invitational, which is recognized as the world's first
regularly-scheduled TG golf match.
I daresay that some people consider DLV to be a golf match surrounded
by other activities. :)
This is scheduled (tentatively - schedule still under development) for
Thursday, April 20.
This is open to all DLV attendees, SO's, guests and friends, of all
skill levels.
We've set up a mailing list for discussion and planning of this year's
golf. If you're interested in playing golf with the DLV group this
year, please join the golf list. Just send a brief e-mail to:
dlvgolf@geekbabe.com
... and say you want to receive the golf list.
Thanks to Mindy and Billie Lee for coordinating this activity.
