Thanks again, gang:
Thanks to all for making DLV 2007 our best-attended and most
successful DLV in all of our history.
Our formal attendee survey will be ready in about a week or so.
. . . . .
Comments, feedback, and discussion are most welcome. Although we
will have a formal survey on line shortly, we do invite both
public and private comments, anecdotes, and discussion, positive
or negative.
You may post your comments and discussion on the Diva Las Vegas
Discussion Forum on the web at:
http://www.geekbabe.com/dlv/dlvdisc/
Alternatively you can use the new Yahoo interface (see below) or
via e-mail to dlvdisc@geekbabe.com.
If you wish to comment in private, just e-mail dlv@geekbabe.com
and please note that your comments are not for publication.
. . . . .
Semi-official final headcount is 130, a new record, which surpasses
our previous record of 126 in 2005. This is final pending any
"you forgot me" responses to the Missing In Action note below.

Call For Photographs:
As always, we will be assembling a large collection of DLV 2007
photos on our web site.
We are asking you to please contribute your photos to this effort.
Here's the way this works.
1. Attendees submit their photos as outlined below.
2. We temporarily place all photos on line in a private staging
area for all attendees to view and approve. Everybody gets a
reasonable number of NO votes for any photos in which they appear,
excluding the large group photos at Night Of The Soiled Doves,
Elvis and the Limo Tour. Those are a done deal. (Note that the
inside photos of Night Of The Soiled Doves need to be approved
by the facility staff, and they will appear after most of the
others.)
3. We use those approved photos to make up the final DLV 2007
follow-up page.
. . . . .
How do you submit these, you ask? Here's how ...
But first, a note on file types. If you don't know or don't care
what file types are, you can skip this section. :)
.jpg files are preferred, but any sane file format is acceptable.
Minimum size of 640 pixels on the long side please, preferred is
800 or so on the long side, but any larger size is acceptable. If
you don't know anything about pixels and file formats, just send
them in and we will sort them out.
Zip or tar files are acceptable if you wish, but not preferred.
Here are the methods you can use to send them in, listed most
easy to most difficult in the effort usually required to send.
1. E-mail, file attach using any sane method. The file attach
functions of Hotmail/Yahoo/Gmail all work fine. You may send
directly to either dlv@geekbabe.com or annie@annie.net
You may attach one image per e-mail, or many images per e-mail,
whatever works best for you. There are no "mailbox size limits"
on these accounts, so send away.
2. FTP. Please write in for the server/login/password information.
3. CD/DVD or floppy via snailmail (postal mail).
We had problems with this last year. Two of the submitted CDs
would not mount on any machine I had access to, both at home
and at work, and one did not have the images, but only links
(shortcuts) to them on the user's machine.
If you can't use 1 or 2 above, and need to send a CD/DVD, please
write in for the postal mail address. The CDs or floppies will
be returned if you want
4. Hardcopy prints via snailmail. Again, write in for the
postal mail address. Prints will be scanned and then returned.
Standard 4" x 6" mini-lab prints work very well for this and
reproduce very well on the web.
5. Links to a NORMAL (repeat NORMAL) web site with the images.
By "normal" we mean something other than most "Photo Sharing"
sites. These are intentionally designed to make it difficult
to get clean quality copies of multiple images. Flickr is a
pain to use for this, and the Yahoo Groups photos are no
longer available in full resolution.
If you want to ask what's easiest for us, 1 and 2 (e-mail or)
FTP are about as easy and are preferred over the others.
3 and 4 (CD/DVD, floppy, or prints) via postal mail are next
in terms of effort required to process. Prints always work,
and it's really no problem to scan them, since I have access
to a large scanner which will do several of them in each
scan.
Downloading from the web is not preferred, but will work
assuming the site does not use any strange methods to display
the full-resolution images. Most of the photo sharing sites
are intentionally landmined to prevent mass downloading
using scripts.
Any questions or concerns, please let us know. As soon as the
photos start coming in we will put up the staging area and
announce it to those who attended.

Awards of Recognition:
For those who missed the in-real-life presentation, we gave two
well-deserved awards recognizing the contibutions of two of our
most active volunteers at the Retro Bash last Saturday.
Without the effort of these two, DLV would have been far less
spectacular than it was.
The first award went to Nora.
Nora has coordinated so many DLV activities over the years that
we have lost count! This year, Nora successfully coordinated not
one, not two, but THREE dinner activities. These are the ones
that nobody (but Nora) wants to do, and involves contacting
vendors, negotiating prices and capacities, and, of course
explaining the nature of our group to the vendors.
Nora has also coordinated the Big Sister program as well over the
past several years, a program which has literally changed lives.
And for her next trick! Something Lance Burton and Siegfried and
Roy would have a hard time with, she successfully negotiated a
discount hotel rate for DLV attendees which could not be beaten by
a few mouse clicks!
The second award went to Mindy.
Mindy has given Diva Las Vegas a genuine world's first, in that we
have claim to the first regularly-scheduled TG golf tournament in
recorded history, the annual Diva Las Vegas Invitational.
Despite some challenges, Mindy remains very active and just as
enthusiastic, if not more so.
Mindy's successful negotiating has made golf affordable to all
from DLV who wished to do it.
In addition to Golf, Mindy has coordinated countless other
activities, many of which require "real work", such as the
increasingly-popular Pity Party.
A well-deserved congratulations to Mindy and Nora!

New Yahoo Group:
The DLV Discussion Forum has been reasonably active over the past
few years and has been successful so far. No, it's not going away.
We are, however, adding a Yahoo Groups interface into the DLV
Discussion Forum for those who regularly use Yahoo Groups and
prefer that method. The address of the new Yahoo group is:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dlvegas/
The name of the Yahoo group is: "dlvegas"
It's active now, so you can go ahead and use it if you want.
The content on the new Yahoo group and the DLV Discussion Forum,
both on the web and via e-mail will be the same. You may read
and/or post on both.
If you are a Yahoo member, you can subscribe to this group with
the link above or through your own groups menu.
If you are not a Yahoo member, you can continue to read and post
using either e-mail or the web interface at:
http://www.geekbabe.com/dlv/dlvdisc/
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Please rate our vendors:
We're asking all who attended DLV activities to please let us
and others know how you liked (or did not like) the vendors who
provided products and services to us.
Please visit the page:
http://www.geekbabe.com/dlv/vendors/
.. and enter ratings and comments as you feel appropriate. With
most mailers you should be able to click on the above link.
You may enter a rating (1 to 10 on satisfaction and comfort) for
all vendors, plus make comments if you like on each of them.
If you got good service and enjoyed something, let others know.
Likewise, if you had a bad meal or bad service, warn others.
If you find that we're missing a vendor, please submit it using
the link on the vendor screen.

Call For Volunteers continues:
Yes, DLV wants YOU!
A special "Call For Volunteers" mailing went out on Tuesday.
If you would like to volunteer to help make a great thing even
better, just send email to: dlvorg@geekbabe.com or just reply
to this mailing and say you would like to volunteer.
You can also volunteer on the final page of the DLV Attendee

Missing in action:
If your name and number appear below, you have been flagged as
a "No-Show" for DLV 2007.
Please help us keep our records up to date and our headcounts
accurate, if for some reason we missed you, please let us know.
Yes, it's very possible that we just missed you at check-in
time, or for some reason you were unable to attend activities
where check-in was being done.
If you're on this list and DID INDEED ATTEND at least one DLV
activity or function, please reply to this mailing and tell us
your name (of course) :) and which activity you first attended.
We'll then update our records to show you have attended DLV
2007, which will allow you to register for DLV 2008 early
as a returnee.
To avoid confusion of duplicate or similar names, please be sure
that the first part of your registration number which appears
below and the first four characters of your e-mail address match.

Missing Limo Tour payments:
During the heat of battle as limos were being loaded, it appears
that a small number of individuals were boarded without having
paid for their tickets.
Unfortunately the Limo Tour funds are slightly short for this
reason, and some of the Limo Tour volunteers have not been
fully reimbursed for expenses.
If you attended the Limo Tour and did not pay, please be
considerate and write in for payment information. (Just
reply to this mailing.) It will be appreciated, and it will
avoid having a valued volunteer take a financial hit in the
pocketbook.
Thanks. Your response is appreciated.

of yourself in the DLV Gallery. Several people from all DLV years,
41 at last count, are already featured. To view the gallery, visit
the URL:

To submit photos for the gallery, please send them via e-mail using
any of the standard file attach methods to either dlv@geekbabe.com or
annie@annie.net
You may send anywhere between 1 and 5 photos for the gallery, with at
least one being a clear face shot if possible. Individual .jpg images
are preferred. Any sane format will be accepted. No nude, slut/fetish
or "adult" theme photos please. You may also send in the following
information for inclusion in the gallery:
1. The years you have attended DLV.
2. Your personal web site URL. Optional, noncommercial sites only, no
"adult" sites please.
3. Your email address. Optional, this will be encoded so it will be
