What is the Alternative Bar Crawl?

Ok, Sarona, I'll play along. :)

What is the Alternative Bar Crawl?

It's when we visit a number of bars in the Las Vegas area,
concentrating on those which are known to be TG-friendly,
staying a brief time at each (usually 1-2 drinks max) and
then moving (crawling) on to the next.

This is part of what we call Mainstream-Alternative Night,
which consists of several smaller activities, some of them
mainstream and exposed to the general public, and others
which are "alternative" in orientation.

We hit a few of our old favorites, those bars which are known
to be fun and reasonably priced, and we always try to get to
at least one bar we've never visited before.

In some years this activity has "snowballed", meaning as we
crawl from bar to bar, others join in, and the crawling party
gets larger and larger as the night goes on.

Another big attraction of this activity is that it is very
appropriate, even encouraged, to dress trashy, flashy,
whatever, as you wish. As long as you don't get arrested for
indecent exposure, what you wear, or don't wear, is fine!

This will happen on Tuesday evening of DLV week, starting
about 8:30pm. No sign-up, just show-up, and the starting
bar will be noted in the final schedule in the Large Final
Mailing.

Glad to see your easing up on the dress code rules.

There's really not been any "easing up" of our behavior,
dress, and restroom guidelines. No major changes have
been made to the BDR guidelines since 2003, when it
became expressly un-cool to have fun at the expense
of others.

For things such as the Alternative Bar Crawl, it's
always been perfectly appropriate to dress flashy,
trashy, slutty, whatever. There are other activities
where unconventional dress is quite appropriate, such
as the Night Of The Soiled Doves and the Pajama
Party.

Please read the behavior, dress, and restroom guidelines
and I'm sure that you will agree that there's nothing
that's too much to ask in there. It's basically all
about consideration of others. Unfortunately there is
still some misinformation about this circulating. :(

We haven't had any significant dress issues for a few
years now, and we thank all who have attended for it!
