Imperial Palace Help

I just got off the phone with Imperial Palace. I booked a Classic room.
Are those decent?

They had Capri rooms for the same price but the reservation girl said
Classic was nicer. DeLux rooms were higher. Should I upgrade? Thanks in
advance and see you in April, Getting excided.

Yes, those are their basic "run of the house" tower rooms. I've
stayed at the IP many times over the years, both on business and
pleasure.

Don't expect turn-down service with a mint on the pillow, but
the rooms are clean and comfortable.

My only complaint about the IP is that the elevators can be
very slow at times.

The "Capri" rooms are actually the old Flamingo Capri motel
rooms toward the rear of the property. IMAO they are not as
nice as the "Classic" tower rooms. The reason some of our
people like these is that the doors upen up directly outside,
and there's no passing through a casino or hotel lobby to get
to your vehicle.

I haven't exactly figured out what the difference is between
the "Classic" and "Deluxe" rooms. It appears that the Deluxe
rooms tend to be higher up and/or have Strip or poolyard
views.

A couple of our people had a "Classic" room in 2008 which
was on a lower floor and accessed by a literal rat-maze
of hallways. That's the only one I've seen which I would
not like to stay in.

One hint: Unless you are a very heavy sleeper, when you
check in, ask for a room which does NOT overlook the
Carnaval Court. On some nights they will have a band or
deejay there going on until about 3:00 in the morning.

Ahhh.. but the Carnival court is a great place to overlook. The
entertainment value is tremendous! I would suggest just getting some Galiano
in you before heading to bed if it is sleep that you want. ;-)

The old rooms that open up are great if you do not want to traverse the
casino, however, they can be a bear on heels as you have to walk through the
garage area to remain secluded. But they are nice rooms and tend to be more
in tune with the DLV venue.

I have always liked the IP as annie knows. When I make it back, that is
where I will stay again. Have a great time everyone!

Yes, and when you make it back, I'll gladly toast with you
with a glass of Galiano [sic] assuming that nobody needs it
to use as starting fluid to get their rental car going! :)

You should be happy there. It's not the Bellagio by any
means, but far from what I would call a dump.

Well, not to appear pedantic, but if you're in the hotel
where you are staying, you should probably use the one in
your hotel room. That's really the best practice. There is
total comfort and privacy, and absolutely no question as to
if it's appropriate.

Having said that {sigh - deep breath} ... I hope this does
not scare you or anybody off. ...

We had a fairly significant restroom incident at the IP in
2008. To summarize, one of our attendees thought that
nobody was looking and stood in the stall to do her thing.

Well, somebody was looking, and security was on the scene
in seconds! They ejected the offender and one other innocent
DLVer from the property.

If the restroom guidelines had been followed, this incident
most likely would not have occurred. Enough said, sorry.

Please, if you're going to use a public bathroom sit down and do your
business. DO NOT Stand to do it! And remember, toes pointing inward.
Afterward, you're done....get out quickly. Do not linger to chit chat!
Of course, we all know this by now, right?

If one is going in public dressed as a female, then behave
like a female at all times. NO exceptions. NO male
behavior.

The problems resulting from someone's male behavior
while enfemme creates more hurt to the ones that are
innocent, and forces the innocent to share the brunt of
blame, AND shame, and ruins their day and vacation.

This is very true. In many cases it's not the guilty party
who gets the wrong end of the stick! In the case of the
incident at the IP, someone who didn't even go near a
restroom of any type was bounced along with the offender.

Security acts quickly and doesn't ask questions. Anyone
remotely involved is likely to be ejected. We had a case
a few years back where a supportive GG tried to stick up
for a couple of our people during a restroom incident.
She ended up getting escorted off the property as well.

"Misusing a restroom is a very good way to get SOMEBODY
ELSE in trouble!"
