Hi

I am leaving from Toronto ,Canada. the best deal I can find so far is at
Circus Circus that's flight and hotel has anyone from DLV stayed their
before and if so would you recommend the hotel.I understand it's at the
end of the strip would that interfere with me joining any of the
activities.

I would like to sign up for a big sister, can't remember if I asked for
one when I registered .

Thanks
Pamela Ann

Hi Pam.

Circus Circus is a dump and the multitudes of kids therein don't help it
any either.

Try the Imperial palace, It's T friendly, At a good location and as of
10 minutes ago their rates on the net were Sunday 18th= $39.- Monday
through Thursday= $29. Hard to beat wouldn't you say?

Book early, Their rates will go up as time passes.

Hope this helps.

Hugs. Katie.

I have not personally stayed there, but I have heard from
some who have. We've had DLVers stay there off and on since
1999 with no incidents reported.

The advantage to Circus Circus is that it can be very cheap.

The major issue, for us, is that it's not considered to be
very TG-friendly, since they (still) market heavily to
families who will be bringing kids.

The bottom-dollar rooms are in what they call the "Manor",
low-rise buildings to the north of the main casino and hotel
tower. These have a reputation of being in poor repair and
noise issues from kids (crying babies, kids running and
screaming in the hallways, etc.) are frequently reported.

Ever since the Westward Ho and the Stardust closed, Circus
Circus and Riviera are kind of on an "island" on the north
Strip with no other major casinos in the immediate area. The
Wynn/Encore are about 1/3 mile to the south, and the Sahara
is about 1/2 mile to the north.

You'll most likely need a rental car. If you don't have
that, you'll probably be taking a few moderately-expensive
taxi rides per day.

You can sign up for a Big Sister on the web. Just use the
link which came back to you when you registered. Duplicate
requests are no problem.

Hi Pamela Anne

I stayed at the IP a couple of years ago and had a great time,
though as mentioned in a latter thread on the IP, the elevators
can be very slow and crowded. The IP is an old gal and showing
some wear and tear, still things are neat and basic.

In case there is a large line up at the main check-in counter
near the front, there was a small secondary check-in counter at
the back of the casino near the exit to the parking garage and
bridge to it's sister Harrah's casino.

I had a great relationship with the Ethopian gal who worked the
cheap jewelery booth near the stairs. I bought a few pieces of
jewelery from her. She wanted me to drop by everytime I had a
different outfit on. We talked about the large Ethopian community
in Toronto near the Weston Road and Lawrence area.

Have fun and take a lot of pictures.

I must take exception to calling Circus Circus a dump. I have
stayed there many times with no problems, even with the kiddos.
I don't stay in the manor rooms, perhaps they are bad, and cabs
don't go directly there. But the West tower rooms are fine,
newly remodeled, with excellent views of the strip on the
higher levels. The elevator there goes down to the main lobby
and a short walk outside to the cabs.

I found the Sahara rooms to be rather awful compared to the
usual places I stay, I only stayed there last DLV to be where
the other gals were.

As for this TG friendly stuff, I really don't understand the term.

Most places in Vegas are professional and courteous. There were
a few problems at Sahara last year due to sophomoric college
students on the weekend, and a friend of mine had an incident
at the Paris in Oct., supposedly marketing to the TG and gay
community. But thats something we are all going to experience
at some time.

Just have to realize that we're all going to have both good and
bad experiences. And Vegas is overall a good place to be at.
