Hi.

I would like to suggest a DLV Mini Forum before the big event
on ideas from experienced compassionate DLVers for New attendees
to DLV who are "Brand new" to going out dressed. There won't be
that many of them so it would be easy to handle I suspect.

I was almost Crispy Brand New when I attended my first DLV and was
let down by my Big Sister 1 week before setting off on my Scary
New Adventure. She told me via E-Mail that my Hotel = The Rio was
too far off the strip for her to be of any help! (There's no need
to go into who she was as she wasn't an asset to the group and
doesn't attend anymore and it's a moot point now) I didn't want to
upset anyone so I didn't ask for a replacement Sister.

I have always been quite independent and I wanted So Very Badly to
go out dressed with my new found group of friends so I did it alone
and put my best strappy sandalled foot forward and it worked out ok
for me. But I could have used some advice and encouragement ...

What I would suggest is to start the thread(s) here, since this forum
does have a wide subscriber base and a good footprint on the net, and
spin it off to a separate sub-forum (with associated Yahoo group) if
and when it generates enough traffic to warrant it.

This is an excellent suggestion. A mini forum for those who have not
gone out before, for those who have limited experience and for those
who are just nervous.

As the Big Sister coordinator I will be happy to moderate this forum
and coordinate it's activity. If this works out those who wish to
take part, A yahoo group or something similar could be set up and
we could all participate.

On another note what you mentioned about your negative experience
with your Big Sister disturbs me. I wish that you would have
contacted me and I guarantee that this would have been corrected.
You would have received another Big Sister or I would have helped.

I would appreciate it if you could privately (mailto:cadnild@aol.com)
the name and email address of the Big Sister that failed to meet her
obligations. Just in case she does return and volunteer I will know
not to assign her.

Hi.

Great idea to whomever suggested this idea of a DLV Mini Forum. I
think it is Nora.

Sorry to hear about your first time experience. Mine was totally
opposite of yours. I had a great Big Sister. Her name is Mindy.

I couldn't have asked for a nicer and sweeter Big Sister. She did
everything a Big Sister should do. She suggested new make-up. The
one I had bought on the internet was a joke. She took me shopping.
And she took me to go have my make-up done at the mall. It was
fun!! We laughed and, I think, even cried at all my adventures,
or misadventures, during my first DLV.

She was even a Big Sister to my sister-in-law Bobbi from Hawaii.
Imagine that! Taking on two novices. What a gal!! I would like
to return the favor and be a Big Sister to someone new. So please
keep me in mind.

Thanks for the feedback li'l sis. I had a great time having the both of
you as little sisters. Diane and I both fondly look back at the
adventures and misadventures *LOL*. Big Hug and a KISS.
