I would like to suggest two options for this Sat evening. Metro Pizza
and Chapala's Mexican, both on S. Decatur. Both are on the "Big List"
that DLV puts out for suggested places to visit.

Let me know what you all think.

I prefer Decatur, since we are staying on that side of town.

Both are excellent choices. A bit off the strip but not too far off.

If you choose a Mexican restaurant include the one in the Tuscany and
Palace Station in your decision. Both are closer to the strip and have
great food and service.

Nora,

I know Jay mentioned a new mall that was to have the restaurant
chain "Claimjumpers".

Is it now open, if so, has anyone ate there as in tg friendly?

I've eaten at Claim Jumpers, but never in LV.

The food is very good and the portions are HUGE!

It's very mainstream. I agree with Nora that it may be a bit
scary for beginners.

HI Kumiko:

I believe there are now 3 claim Jumper restaurants in Las Vegas.
The new one is reported to be in the District. I have not been
to that one. I believe it has opened.

We have gone to the one in Henderson and the one in Summerlin. We
were treated very well in both places. It is mainstream and some
of those who are hesitant may not want to go there.

Hi Annie, Nora,

Thank you! I didn't know that this restaurant was
already in the Vegas area. I've always wanted to eat at
one again. I can now try it again in LV.

I've been to Claim Jumpers once in Oregon in boymode.
Yes, the food is very good, and the serving sizes are huge,
and so are the desserts which was very very good. I've
had their giant eclair and chocolate cake.

Its a place that during dinner hrs from 5-7, there is a line
waiting to get in. Yes, I agree, it will be a bit scary for newbies.
Its also a very good family restaurant, so there are kids all over
the place.

Claimjumper in Town Square:

6629 Las Vegas Blvd South
TOWN SQUARE LAS VEGAS
702.270.2509

Claim Jumper is VERY T-friendly. Great for beginners. There's even a
unisex bathroom. You can't go wrong. Sincerely, J.

HI Kumiko:

Yes there is always a long line to get into the Claim Jumper but it is
worth while waiting. The portions are gigantic and the food is great.
I love the chicken pot pie. The staff has always been very friendly to
us. The intimidating part is the wait for a table with the other
diners. This may prove to be a bit difficult for newbies.

If you do not get to go to the Claim Jumper during Diva Week we can go
next time you are in town.

HI Kumiko:

I responded to this yesterday. I have not gone to this Claim Jumper and do
not know of anyone who has gone here. The other claim Jumpers in town are fine
except for the long wait.
