I admit I was one that signed up and didn't make it. I used the contact
list and I hope that one of my attempts to let you know I wouldn't be
there, made it in time to get me partly off the hook.

I just didn't plan my family emergencies very well this year and
couldn't get out of Salt Lake. When you describe the air tour that was
taken, I know I missed out on more than a Wonderful DLV this year. I
apologize to all pilots and will attempt to curry their favor in the
future.

On the good side of things, one of the emergencies here at home finally
made it possible for my bride to become aware of my "little secret".
With the proper timing maybe she will be able to come along next year to
participate in the S.O. activities. Which leads me to my question for
those that attended, how did the S.O.'s feel about DLV this year?

Umm...guess it would be a bit unreasonable to expect someone to plan for
family emergencies!

Reminds me of a site manager last year that was yelling at us because
their system lost a drive and went down. He said that disk failures had
to be scheduled in advance.

Back at work and almost wish I were sick again...

I did the Air Tour with Denise in 2003 and it was fantastic. It was a
great view of the Grand Canyon and makes you wonder how anyone ever
found their way thru it. You just need to be prepared that since you are
in a small plane and low altitude, it can be a bumper flight then being
in a commercial jet. Might want to use some motion sickness meds. or
take along a plastic bag, but don't let that stop you. GO for it, you'll
glad be did!!
