Activity Highlight - Golf:

This week we feature one of DLV's most popular activities, Golf!

We have a genuine world's first here at DLV!

The annual Diva Las Vegas Invitational is the world's first
regularly-scheduled TG golf match! This has been a very popular
ongoing activity since DLV 2000.

(I daresay that some of our people consider DLV to be a golf
match with a few other activities thrown in.) :)

This year's Diva Las Vegas Invitational will be held Wednsday,
April 23 and YOU are invited to participate.

You don't have to be an expert. Players of all skill levels are
equally welcome. The purpose of the Diva Las Vegas Invitational
is to have fun and to enjoy the company of others.

This will be held at the Desert Rose Golf Club, one of the area's
premier golf establishments.

You are welcome to play golf in either boymode or girlmode. See
dress notes below. (This is a classy course, this is their dress
code, not ours. See below.)

Prizes will be awarded!

Please join me in thanking Mindy once again for coordinating this
tournament.

Dress:

As Mindy, our tournament director, writes:

Girlmode is preferred but not required, but you will be at a prize
disadvantage playing in guy mode and we may make you play from the
"way back tees".

Course already knows about us and is more than welcoming for us.

Required attire for fem is no cutoffs, no t-shirts, but tank tops
or sleeveless golf shirts are ok. Plain fem tops with no art is ok.
Shorts or skorts should be of modest length (they define that as no
cheeks showing).

I think I'm going to do the golf, for the first time. I had a
ladies' set made customized for me with lengthened grips,
flowered bag and all, and I haven't used them in a couple
of years. I'd better hit the driving range and bone up.

Can you put me on the golf list? I'll wear almost anything, but I
refuse to wear those white shorts with the inverted V's cut in the
sides, a woman's polo shirt, and a tinted visor, pushed over my
head where it won't do anything anyway. I'm not old enough for
that look. :)

thanks

Don't worry about fashion. Slacks, shorts or skorts are all fine. As for
a top we don't all look good in pink so any polo or fem golf top are ok.

Anyway dress comfortable and don't forget the sun screen.

Aww Densie, that hurts. :-)

That's the way I dress in the day-time down here in Texas nearly year
round (it gets warm down here), and I don't even play golf anymore.
I've become much more casual in the last few years.

Of course, the high today will only be 65, so I may have to wear
long pants.

All of the above is my round-about way of reminding DLV girls that
it sometimes is cool in Vegas in April - inside or outside, so
bring a sweater.

Hugs,

Tina Tawdre

I wore black suits with turtleneck sweaters all around last year, and I
kept the house at 83 when no one else was here. Otherwise, I used the
space heater by my chair. At work, where they kept it in the low to mid
70's, I wore a felt London Fog trench coat over my suit, and had a space
heater going. Tony says that it's a condition caused by my neck injury.
I'll probably settle for black pants and a turtleneck on the golf
course, but you probably won't see me in shorts. :)

If you can take the heat in all black on the golf course then go for it.
Nothing in that outfit even come close to violation of the course dress
code.
