Queen Mary is gone

I understand the owner's son of the QM has been very ill and business
has been dropping off regularly for the last few years or so. Funny
thing is the LA Times just ran a story about it this past week on how it
was thriving, etc. Guess it was from an old interview. Apparantly they
owned the whole block and made a package deal to someone. BTW, this is
all secondhand info, I do not know anyone involved with the property.

As for Sasha's, they were supposed to open another place in Anaheim last
November but didn't. Maybe they will reconsider now.

My understanding is that a mainstream restaurant will occupy the
building. I do hope they open up again, most likely in another
location, and are able to make a go of it.

Rudy de la Mor is a regular performer at Club Ozz which I think is near
the QM. There is another place in Buena Park, Peanuts???, but I think
it's a hooker hangout. If Sasha's opens it would be an instant hit for
sure.

>I am sad to report that the famous Queen Mary in North Hollywood, here

I've heard two versions of this story. First one is what you stated, QM
is being replaced by a straight place. (Sounds familiar, huh?) Second is
that it will reopen shortly with a similar theme and clientele. Time
will tell.

QM is/was a great place to people-watch. :)

>Have you heard anything about Sasha's opening a new Club near
>Disneyland???? I have heard this rumor a few times but have not
>been able to find out where.

I certainly have not. Mindy? Leah?

Nothing on Sasha's web site hints at this at all.

I know there's a club somewhere in Orange County (thought it was Laguna
Beach area) where Rudy De {mumble}, who does Sasha's occasionally
plays, but I haven't heard of any connection.

Hi all,

Just a quick word to let everyone know that the Queen Mary in North
Hollywood has closed its doors for good. After 42 years it is now gone.
Reason, I do not know.

Anyone know if the rumor about Sasha's opening up a new club near
Disneyland is true????

Hugs, LeeAnna

I was disappointed to hear the news about the QM. It was nice to have a
safe, friendly place to go most nights of the week.

I've been to Ozz on a few occasions, on Sunday nights. Though I thought
it was a TG night, usually very few girls are there besides myself and
the performer(s).

Also, the Boom Boom Room in Laguna Beach and the Frat House in Garden
Grove welcome us any time of the week, but again not many sisters.

I recently heard of a new club in Brea, called the Matrix. A girlfriend
stopped by for a look and said that it's one of the nicest clubs she's
seen. They are trying to get more business on Sunday nights. This one
sounds really good and I will be going there this Sunday.

The info on the Matrix is here: http://www.lifesadrag.net/

The QM had been for sale for some time now. Although there were some
family issues, based on some conversations I'd had with the owner and
his son, the desire to sell was predominately a business decision - real
estate in Studio City is quite high. I haven't been to the QM in two
months, so I can't confirm that it is sold, but if it hasn't been, I
expect it will be.

Wow ... what a blast from the past... " The Boom Boom Room " in
Laguna Beach..

I used to go there around 15 years ago when I lived in Laguna Beach.
What a wild place that was..

Hi,

I was standing in front of the QM on Friday of last week... it is closed
and the name of the new resturaunt is already on the Liquor application
taped to the door.

I sent an email to get confirmation - the QM will become a non-tg
related resturaunt. Sniff.
