A great event and many thanks to allthose who made it happen.

For me, however, the overwhelming amount of smoking at several venues
forced me to leave early and to literally get sick. Not sure what to do,
but it ruins it for some.

I second this comment. I am allergic to cigarette smoke and this has
always been a problem for me. I can hang in most places for a reasonable
time, but many of the venues I attended had so much smoke I left and
went somewhere else.

Regards, Cathy B.

I would like to know which activities, in particular, you noticed this
problem. This has come up before a number of times.

Was this our people, or others who happened to be present at the time?

Alexii,

The smoking didn't bother me enough to make me sick, but I did notice
that my hair and clothes smelled like smoke when I took them off!

Kind of annoying!

Hugs,
Tootsye

In all honesty, it was both.

At the Lucky Cheng dinner, where I had to walk out and not come back, it
was mostly dlv people, but at other venues its a combination of both our
group and others.

I don't know if we should possibly try some non-smoking activities or
have non-smoking tables or what, but it really made it difficult for me
to have a good time this year when it seemed like I was choking on the
smoke most of the time.

I was scheduled to leave on Sun. the 23rd but ending up leaving on
Thurs. and missing a majority of the fun activities. Anyway, just my
two cents worth, but disappointing that the smoking is such a big deal
for so many.

Gambling is not a health hazard to others..... smoking is!

In stark contrast to national trends, Las Vegas is unlikely to ever ban
smoking in public places. The gaming industry feeds on compulsive
behavior and to ban smoking in casinos would be to turn away a majority
of their business.

I also am an ex-smoker and now have no tolerance for the stench of the
stuff. I also don't like to have to send all my stuff to the dry
cleaners to get the tobacco fumes out.

Do you remember if Lucky Chengs offered nonsmoking seats?

There are a number of nonsmoking activities. There was a clear consensus
a few years ago that the Limo Tour should be nonsmoking, and I believe
all of the "Little Girl" things and most of the shows were NS too.

I know there were some issues with smoking in vehicles last year, but I
didn't hear any complaints this year.

The bar type activities, I'm afraid we won't be able to do much about,
but I didn't notice any of them that were particularly thick this year.

As much as I love DLV, the smoking is bothersome. Being from Southern
California I'm accustomed to non-smoking areas, so it requires a little
adjustment when I go to Las Vegas.

This week was especially hard since I contracted bronchitis (one of the
girls in the Limo called me Doc Holliday) and had to limit the number of
events that I could attend.

I am not one to crusade for non-smoking but I would suggest that in the
future we could set aside some non-smoking areas at some of the venues.
