Cindy,
I do apologize for that! It was my responsibility to take the
registration and give out the badges. I started at Hamburger Mary's on
Sunday evening and tried to be at most of the main events on Monday and
Tuesday evenings. I love doing the regristration mark off because it
gives me a chance to meet just about everyone, but the down side is that
I don't get to visit for very long or really not at all. I also am
usually the last to get to eat or whatever is going on. The box of name
tags also clash with some of my evening outfits! <g> Maybe I should get
several boxes that are color cordinated!
By Wednesday, I am watching for attendees that do not have badges, but
since many do not wear them, I can't tell who is registered and who
isn't! Some have even seemed annoyed when I asked!
By Thursday, I have pretty well stopped carrying the box take the
position that it is the attendees responsibility to find me and I do
sometimes go places outside the DLV schedule!
I do try to keep a list of people that have not gotten badges or
registered when they tell me, and make the adjustments on the list and
give out the badges at the next event.
Late on Saturday, Annie and I go over the list and reconcile it the best
we can. There did not seem to be many what were not checked off when we
did that at Carluccios.
I admit the system is a little awkward and probably needs to be tweaked,
but I am unsure how to do it with the least inconvienence to the
attendees! As you know we try to keep things as simple and casual as
possible, so we don't want to make DLV even more like a convention.
Actually, some people come to DLV activitities that have never
registered and do not intend to do so. I am not sure how the find out
where the activities are and when. But, that is their problem, not ours!
Hope you had a good time!
Hugs,
Tootsye
