I do not remember signing in and did not get a badge this year. [Had
plenty of old ones in my purse] Wonder if others had this happen? Cindy

Cindy,

I do apologize for that! It was my responsibility to take the
registration and give out the badges. I started at Hamburger Mary's on
Sunday evening and tried to be at most of the main events on Monday and
Tuesday evenings. I love doing the regristration mark off because it
gives me a chance to meet just about everyone, but the down side is that
I don't get to visit for very long or really not at all. I also am
usually the last to get to eat or whatever is going on. The box of name
tags also clash with some of my evening outfits! <g> Maybe I should get
several boxes that are color cordinated!

By Wednesday, I am watching for attendees that do not have badges, but
since many do not wear them, I can't tell who is registered and who
isn't! Some have even seemed annoyed when I asked!

By Thursday, I have pretty well stopped carrying the box take the
position that it is the attendees responsibility to find me and I do
sometimes go places outside the DLV schedule!

I do try to keep a list of people that have not gotten badges or
registered when they tell me, and make the adjustments on the list and
give out the badges at the next event.

Late on Saturday, Annie and I go over the list and reconcile it the best
we can. There did not seem to be many what were not checked off when we
did that at Carluccios.

I admit the system is a little awkward and probably needs to be tweaked,
but I am unsure how to do it with the least inconvienence to the
attendees! As you know we try to keep things as simple and casual as
possible, so we don't want to make DLV even more like a convention.

Actually, some people come to DLV activitities that have never
registered and do not intend to do so. I am not sure how the find out
where the activities are and when. But, that is their problem, not ours!

Hope you had a good time!

Hugs,
Tootsye

The same occurred to me. I was assured that as long as I paid for my
activities I could attend those. It did feel kind of ackward as this was
my first time and didn't know if there were any implications for not
signing in. I didn't know who or where and had missed the first (and
second) nights' events.

Caitlin,

We are already working on some ideas to improve the sign in process. I
hope that it works better next year. The present system worked pretty
well when the group was smaller, but has some defects when there were as
many as there were this year!

I am glad you had a good time! That is the whole idea of Diva!

Since it was your first time, we will forego the usual fine! <g> (Just
kidding)

Tootsye,

I know you did your usual great job trying to get us all signed up. As
you mention, as we have gotten bigger and more spread out it has become
a giant task.

I was not concerned for me but for the girls that I ran into later in
the week especially at lunch w/wo at the Sahara. This seemed to be a
starting point for many of the new arrivals and maybe we can try and
have someone help you at that location each day.

I did personally miss not crossing paths with you for a quick chat.
[except the bathroom during Cagle]

It was the best DLV yet for me and hope it was for you. Cindy
