Yes, that was a night to remember! The delay was that the hotel's
maintenance people couldn't get the thing restarted and had to call
in the elevator company's emergency crew.

I was making small talk with 5 total strangers for about an hour. Two of
the people were from Chicago and I of course told how I had relatives
there and visited frequently. They were impressed when I pulled a CTA
transit card out of my purse. :) One guy was obviously very much under
the influence and flaked out on the floor and seemed to pass out.

The security operator would call in over the speaker every few minutes
"you guys still there?", like as if we were going to go anywhere. :)

One of the ladies from Chicago was scared and feeling faint, so the
security people met us on the floor when the elevator people got us
cranked down to it.

They did comp everybody's night for the hassle.
