Checking in to the hotel enfemme

Postby LindaK » Sun Feb 17, 2019 7:58 pm

I booked my room with my male credit card but want to check in as Linda. Has anyone else done this at the Flamingo? Did you have any issues?

Thanks!

PS I meant to say that this is for the Diva event beginning March 31st.

If you're shy about the check-in desk, the Flamingo has (or had?)
automated check-in kiosks. You don't have to deal with a person if
these are working. You will need to scan your ID and the credit card
you used to make the reservation.

The kiosks are somewhat limited if you have special requests and such,
but in many cases they are quite a bit faster than the check-in desk.

Checking in to the hotel enfemme

Hi,

I can’t comment on the Flamingo but I can on a number of hotels
especially in Las Vegas. I’ve checked in en femme on multiple
occasions and apart from the odd look there has never been a problem.
If you use your ma(l)e CC and license and it matches their booking
they probably don’t really care.

It’s more likely to cause a problem if you just aren’t upfront with
all the details. Turning up en femme is hardly unique for Flamingo
employees especially during the period you are arriving.

Hope this helps
Michelle

It's actually been VERY easy at all the hotels I've stayed at for DLV over the years, including: Golden Nugget, Rio, Paris, LinQ, Ballys, and Orleans. I simply wear very average everyday female outfit nicely matched and accessorized, hair up in scrunchy with 'everyday' make-up, pink nails, perfume, and sunglasses up on my bangs, and I wait in line relaxed and I wait for a female at front desk (so much friendlier, easier, understanding) then when I get to the counter I simply say, "Hi, how are you today?" (I use a low-key/softer voice) and I quickly follow up with, "I have a reservation for _______ ___________ (male name), 5 nights, and I'm here for a cross-dressing convention, so what do you think?" and I smile and have fun with it as I hand my license and Visa card. Yes that announcement is a bit disarming to the front desk gal, but they have always quickly smiled right back, said, "welcome", and replied to me with "wow, you look amazing" (I know they're trying to be polite and PC re: all the TG-related acceptance they need to display), so I make some more small talk about how I'll be joining over 100 others for the week, or "I'm so looking forward to getting really dressed up for dinner and a show" and I'll say, "Oh, and just call me Cathy" and they do for the remainder of check-in. I get my keys, all the extras/promos/coupons/map, let her explain things, and then I say, "thanks for much and have a wonderful day my dear" and I head to the elevators. It's all about being really confident (nothing is going to happen, it's 2019 and not 1983), AND IT'S VEGAS and literally, no one cares if a guy is dressed as a woman, and talks openly about being at a crossdressing week. You'll do fine, just go with it!

I did both check-in/check-out enfemme at the Flamingo last year, not problem at all. All you need is to be confident and calm: I remembered there was a long line when I check-in on Sunday, I just played my cell phone while waiting, when it was my turn, I handed out my male id and credit card, they greeted me as Madam, and processed the paper work without any question.... 5 minutes later, I am on my way to my room.

I actually flew enfemme too, it was nerve-wracking first half hour, especially when walking in a busy airport, but after that, it was an amazing experience, I highly recommend you try it, you won't be regret at all.

Too bad, I won't be able to attend DLV this year, but wish you and everyone have a great time.
