Taming of the Shrew (and a plea... and stuff)

No, the subject does not reference anyone in the group. Get your head on straight. ;)

Rather, it is the name of the production at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater during Pinkfest this year. I suggest that we add it to our schedule. Tickets don't go on sale until the Fall. I'd like to get some of the events like this scheduled as early as possible and get some headcounts and commitments. This requires advance purchasing and I expect tickets to go fast. The schedule is available at https://www.chicagoshakes.com/plays_and_events/calendar. The show is running every day of Pinkfest except Wednesday, and it runs twice on both Saturday and Sunday.

I'll also include a plea to all the subscribers... let's all please try to get our suggestions in early and make an effort to get the events that require reservations or advance tickets locked in for both scheduling and attendance as early as possible. Once again, I'm willing to front some of the group purchases. That has been a success for the past few years.

Also, I've noted a better selection of AirBnb options this year. I'm looking at a couple of places in the Gold Coast area for less than $100/night that are whole apartment options. There are also some good two bedroom options available if anyone needs to or wants to share. I'd like to invite someone who is a bit more nervous about their first times out to split a place if needed. However, I do plan to make my reservations before the end of May.

I'm pretty much open to whatever the gang wants to do.

I've also noticed that hotel prices are not as outrageous as they have been in some recent years.

Like Annie I'm pretty much OK with all of the cultural events.

I especially enjoy symphony matinees if something good is on, tickets
are more availab le and cost less than evening performances and good for
afternoons that are maybe less entertaining as they should be. It's a
bit early maybe, but I will start looking around too. We have seen some
off-beat museums that were really good any ideas for others we have not
seen?

Thanks for the heads up on the AirBnB's. The only trouble I've had with
early reservations is a host cancelling late leaving me scrambling. But
early reservations do give more choice and probably better price
selection.

I'm really wanting to come up mid to late summer when Kay is more
independent and ride my bike on flat ground! If I drive up which I would
need to do with a bike I'm worried about parking and the liability of
having a car in the city. Any ideas?
