Welcome, Brandy! Looking forward to having you. :) (OBTW, I am partly
Canadian by heritage.) :)

If you have not read the hotel page, it's on line here and gives a good
summary of what's available.

The only update I might make is that in the last few years more of our
people have been doing AirBnB in lieu of a hotel and have been having
very good luck with it and saved a bunch.

Personally, after years of trial and error, I find that I enjoy Pinkfest
(or any other Chicago trip) better if I stay in a centrally-located
name-brand midscale hotel which has the usual suspect type of room and
the expected amenities. I know it costs more, but I've grown accustomed
to just holding my nose when I pay at the desk.

One of our people had very good luck at a lower cost at the Super-8
north on Sheridan last year.

I think it's probably too early to tell where any concentration of our
people will be this year. I have not made hotel reservations yet but I
will probably do one of three hotels, all within a stone's throw of the
intersection of Grand and State.

When I was looking to buy my place on the lake, I used air b & b

I would stay in each area I was looking in starting in Rogers park and
moving south toward Edgewater. I had great experience, considering i
presented as a trans woman.

Pricing was $50-70 .

Where ever you are stay close to Sheridan RD, that will give you access
to the red line and the 147 , express to down town and 151 local north
and south off Sheridan bus lines. There us a great CTA app

I just compete a major milestone by completing name and gender marker
change two weeks ago.

I live just below Loyola University, feel free to reach out to me if I
can be of help to you

Stephanie,

Thanks for the Air B&B advice, it can be hard to determine just how far
a property is from public transport. The comments from past users
sometimes give the best hints. I've also tried to determine the owner's
attitude toward LGBT travelers, but my profile is pretty about me in
this regard and don't think it would be good to be a surprise.
