Hi All,

I just got home late yesterday afternoon, so I am still in a state of
euphoria from attending DLV and being enfemme for 12 days! I rode up
with Jamie Renae and Cathy Sue and I did not have a stitch of boy
clothes with me.

First let me say that Jamie Renae probably did more work on the Limo
Tour than I did. It was she that printed the tickets and forms for the
seat assignments and drink orders. Since I was involved in the
registration, it was she that collected all the money and saw that
everyone got to sit with their friends and had to drink what they
ordered! I thank her so much for her great work!

I thought the ad hoc meeting on Saturday evening at the San Remo went
well. Steve, the manager of Show Girls of Magic, AKA Tiny Bubbles,
comped six or seven of us to see the show and afterward we had a photo
op again. Those girls are so nice! After that, three of them had changed
back to ordinary clothes and came into the bar and talked to us. Some of
the most fun and interesting things seem to happen by accident.

The church service at the MC church seemed to go well! Eleven of us
gathered there to worship. I was so proud of the sisters. Everyone was
dressed appropriately and so well behaved. We were graciously recieved
by the congregation and were recognized from the pulpit. Afterward, most
of us adjorned to a small casino (I forget the name of it) for a good
lunch. When nine of us walked into the dining room, we were noticed, but
treated well.

It was the first time I had been in Freezone, but I was busy with
registration and did not see any of it anyway. Jena kept me on track,
since I have a tendancy to visit! She is such a nice person!

We had stopped by Milanos on the way into Freezone, and told them we
were coming, so they had at least an hour to prepare for us. I agree
that it is too small, but who would have expected that many people to
show up that early for DLV? Anyway, the food was good, and I enjoy the
visiting time!

Spotlight Lounge was a repeat of Freezone. I was continueing
registration, so I saw little of it.

I didn't go to Rhyolite for two reasons. I lived for forty years in the
desert, and have no interest in them anymore. We used the Monday morning
to check out the limo stops. We did not go to Treasure Island this year
because the big skull is gone and Ceasars was scratched because of the
construction. We checked with Valet at each site.

We also tried to schedule the stops so that we could see the volcano
erupt and the waters dance. We were largely successful.

We had planned the potty stop to be at Bellagio, but they crossed us up
by changing our limo parking area. We did not go to Luxor because we
could not work it in. We did not have enough time and could not find a
place to park the limos and the girls for a decent photo background.

The most interesting aspect for me was my own damn fault. Aiko, had
given me some very good advice about the limo tour. One part was to have
the gratuity money in envelopes and give them to the drivers when we
entered. We had tried to get something to eat in Alladins Desert Passage
and ran late. I sailed in my pink ballgown down the Passage carrying a
basket of french fries to the departure area. I got to eat few of them,
as some other hungry sisters had not had a chance to eat and shared them
with me. In the excitement, I had forgotten the gratuity envelopes and
left them in the car seat, which was now in Valet parking! I did not
realize this until we had been to the Four Queens. I got the valet
parking ticket from Jamie and when we reached the Tropicana, I took off
for the Alladin to retrieve the car and get the drivers gratuities. So
there I was again, sailing down the STRIP in my pink ballgown! In the
car, it seems only a short way to the Alladin, but on foot in low heel
slides, cute as they were, it is a LONG way! I did not worry about
muggers and such as they could have never caught up with me! I also did
not have time to worry about any attention I might have caused. I was
able to make the plan work, and the drivers only had to wait for about
five minutes for their money. The drivers were just super, and deserved
the very good tips they recieved. Again, some of the most interesting
things happen quite by accident!

I must say that the other events were great. The High Tea was well
attended. It is hard to compare it to the Four Seasons. Though we were
scheduled to have tea at two, we did not get started untill three, so
that put us too close to dinner at Carluccios. I did not eat there, and
it was well that I did not, as I was still busy with registration. Leah
did well in sponsoring this. I was one of the one's spreading the word
about using the restroom behind the glass wall, but I cannot remember
who asked me to do that! I was told that they would prefer we use that
one. I took it to mean that the one by the bar was too crowded but I did
not use either, so I am not sure.

The Night of the Soiled Doves was a wonderful experience. Aiko is a
great innovator and organizer! She does get a little bossy sometimes!
giggle! "I want those cameras in the cars NOW"!

Diane's Boat Ride was very good! I engaged a couple on the boat in
conversation. It was their 20th wedding anniversary! They were very
supportive of what we were doing and wished us well!

The same goes for two other groups at the Bellagio after the Night of
the Soiled Doves. We talked to them for over an hour. We had tried to
find "Charlie" bar, but the Bell Captain had never heard of it! By the
time Annie came along about eight of us were already comfortly escounced
at the bar near the entrance. We were having a good time and being well
treated, so we never did move to Charlie's Bar! The chances to interact
with the public is perhaps one of the things that is the most fun to me.
At the San Remo on the last Saturday, we had two different occasions to
do that. Once in the restaurant and again out in the bar. Both times, we
had a lot of laughs and the folks with whom we were visiting left with
more knowledge and a good feeling about us.

I must echo the comments about Flex and Goodtimes. If we are going to
continue to use them, we need to communicate with them. I found them
both too dark and too loud! Would it not be good management for them to
add another bartender for two or three hours while we were there? I did
not get a drink at either place because I did not have time to wait
fifteen minutes for a drink! I could not do registration at either place
because it was too dark to see the paper and too noisy to hear the
registrants.

Las Vegas Lounge is a dump and should never be mentioned at DLV again
except to warn our sisters about it!

The only complaint I heard about the Limo tour, was that it was too
short! I asked "how long should it have been?" The answer was "eight
hours"! I sort of feel like that about DLV. I have such a good time, I
want it to be longer and not end so soon, but reality has to set in!

I would like to see a little time programmed for SLEEP, but like Annie
says "sleep is optional"!

I babble too much!

Goodnight!
