Where are you on the scales?

Postby annie » Mon Jan 04, 2016 12:25 pm

These questions came about from a comment received in feedback last year, stating it would be nice to know which of those attending are more subdued and refined, and which are major party animals.

So, I'll ask the question, and add another.

Question 1: Where do you, personally, stand on the "Church Lady to Party Animal" scale, with 1 being a total prude and 10 being a total wild party girl (or guy)?

Question 2: Where do you, personally stand on the "Jeans and T-shirt to Put On the Dog" scale, with 1 being extremely casual in style of presentation and dress, and 10 being totally glitzy, flamboyant in dress and presentation?

I'll answer for me here.

On question 1, I'm probably about a 7. I really enjoy having a good time, but I'm getting old(er) and I don't have the desire (or the stamina) to party as hard as I used to. :)

On question 2, I'm probably about a 2 or 3. I'm usually somewhat casual. I do enjoy dressing up, when and where appropriate, but at DLV I haven't really dressed up-up for several years now.

How about you?

Where are you on the scales?

from: eliese lane;

1# is surprisingly difficult. as a child, i always preferred to "play by
myself" (or with a small, select group of peers. as an "only child" of
an "only child mother" & a 1-sibling father (who did not care much for
his sister) and who had become rather estranged from his parents before
i arrived, "family holidays" were basically mother, father, mother's
parents, and me --- just 5 of us (unlike some to which circumstances
subjected me later). as a musician, i have often had to deal with far
more others than make me comfortable. in university marching band, i
would have totally avoided "band parties," except that a) SO of the time
wanted to go, and 2) as a "band occifer (sic)" [student (("stud"))
director 3d year & "emeritus {emerita?"], i felt obligated to "make an
appearance." {a few years later, as an Army officer, the less said the
better (just like my father had been).}

question #1 is further complicated by my not having begun dressing until
age 58 (rather late, no? -- check prior responses to that aspect).
story: the first time i "interacted with the general public while 'en
femme'" was the very last day of 26 years' employment at a public
library (& only after having diligently confirmed with all staff to be
on duty that day that none would have any problem whatsoever if i did
so.) [my "cover" had already been blown when a reference librarian
recognized some photos of "eliese" i kept on my desk, and asked. she
admitted the connection would not have occurred to her had it not been
MY desk.] {present SO (i.e. RDP [aren't acronyms fun?]) knows,
tolerates, but will NOT participate, though other friends, GG & GM,
know, do, & will.

very, very long answer to a "simple" question (though i hope it has been
of interest to some): give me a 3.575364

oh yes, there is a question #2:

a bit easier; if i wanted to wear jeans & a T-shirt, why would i even
bother to shave? (shaving seems to make "passing" marginally more
plausible, if only to oneself, but it is SUCH a bother.) i think i
mostly like wearing the "nice" clothes (and i do NOT mean White Tie &
Tails). if a GG wants to "dress like a guy," she can do so with impunity
(mostly). HOWEVER, ...........(i will admit that my predilection for
wearing kilts has a lot to do with such being about as close to a skirt
as is "socially acceptable." ..... surprising number of very favorable
comments, most from GGs.) 7.7593006

e-mail "as sent to" works best, should anyone wish to pursue this
further.elieselane635@gmail.com also works, but i often forget to check
it for weeks.

hugs,eliese

Ha ha

When I first saw the subject I thought it must be some kind of an after Christmas weight loss contest or something.

For question 1 I'm a 6 but only because Dennis is a 6 but I can be an 8
if the party is good.

This next DLV I plan to let Dennis retire early if he wants and head on
back out to party for a couple of hours longer.

For question 2. I'm anywhere from 6 to 10 on the scale. I like
presenting myself in glamorous attire whether it be casual or dressy.

I think I'm probably about a 7 on the party scale, although anyone watching me would probably think I'm a 2 because I am not animated; much of the partying is internal with me. I like to dress nicely most of the time (never pants; always a dress or skirt), so I would say about 7-8 on the dress scale (unless we're slumming).

Ok then about 6-7-maybe 8 on both scales.

I like both refined and wild. Fancy restaurants, dancing at
lounges/clubs, limo rides, evening galas, bdsm/fetish clubs, and drag
shows. Just have to warm up and I'm good.

I don't get to dress all that much so I tend to dress well to make the
most of it, but not to the point of flamboyant.
