Diva Las Vegas 2016 dates are final ...

Monday, March 28 thru Saturday, April 2, 2015.

No serious objections were received during our Call For Comments period,
so the dates of Monday, March 28 - Saturday, April 2 may now be
considered to be final. They have now been marked as such on the web
site.

We wish to thank all for participation and feedback during the date
selection process.

As stated in the Discussion Forum, no dates will be ideal for everyone.
We hope that the agreed-upon dates will be workable for as many of the
attendees and volunteers as possible.

For those who may be planning travel and lodging to facilitate
attendance at our major large gatherings, we appear to be converging on
a scheduling strategy that would place our major gatherings on the
Monday and the Friday evenings of DLV week. This is not in stone as of
this time but it's the best guess as of this date as to when our DLV
2016 major gatherings will be happening.

One general rule of thumb is that the sooner you book your flight, the more options you will have for schedule and price.

Historically speaking, airfares (Stateside, that is) often, but not always, drop in early-mid January, right after the holidays.

Now if you're flying from overseas (it looks like we'll have a few this year) I have no clue, but I'm sure the "sooner the better" rule applies.

Annie is so very correct about options disappearing, particularly if you
are flying out of a secondary airport, as I am.

For me, waiting too long runs the risk of having a two or three stop
flight.

I've been casually checking my specific route (from the eastern US) ,
and right now, it's a bit higher (15-20%) than expect to be able to book
it for at some point, however I probably won't wait much past
mid-December.

Bear in mind, I'm only checking two smaller departure cities - if you
are flying from a major hub, your situation may be totally different.
