Guinness World Record for Largest Stage Drag Show

On Sunday April 12, the Las Vegas Hard Rock Cafe hosted a Drag Queen World Record Attempt for charity and promoting its monthly Drag Queen Brunch. There were 61 Drag Queens in the official count.

While Guinness has yet to confirm the record, with Las Vegas’ final count of 61, Columbus (Ohio) might have to start planning its revenge. Because, as Drag Queen Brunch host Kitty Litter put it, “[We] just made drag history!”

Bahamas Breeze may well qualify as the largest number of TG women at a non-hotel restaurant. I know at SCC, there are way more people at the events in the hotel but the dinners at outside restaurants normally don't exceed 50 or so. Probably couldn't get Guiness to track that little bit of trivia.

Our Bahama Breeze gatherings are less than our all-time single most attended activity, which was at the now-closed Drink And Drag downtown in 2012. IIRC the count was 118.

My hunch is that FanFair has both SCC and DLV beat for this. FanFair has had some larger on-the-town gatherings over the years.

For those who were stuck under a rock last night and did not see the Big Show on ABC they made a reference to a 200-person TG chorus as part of the Glee series.

It's probably the best mainstream media exposure to TGism of all time. (Yes, I know there are a few critics out there!)

I feel that to be a drag show everyone needs to perform in some way (lip sync, dance, sing etc) otherwise I would think they would be beat by most gay pride parades. I wonder if all 61 queens performed or if they just showed up.
