Absent this year (was: Where are you staying?)

Postby External Poster » Tue Feb 10, 2015 7:31 pm

This posting is from: Julie
----------

This is a note to all who will miss me this year. Hello, it's Julie
(Bullhead City). My missing this year has a cause and it is cancer. Yep,
I'm undergoing chemotherapy and live in my bedroom and bathroom. A not so
good situation if I drop all and attend looking like a 100 years old. I
would be there if I could ladies, you know that.

Anyway, you all have the best vacation yet. I'll be following your good
times via emails or on our forum.

P.S. Annie, sorry about sending a pic with this.

Julie Carter

Oh Julie. I am so sorry to hear about this. I can tell you that you will be greatly missed. I was looking forward to playing golf with you again.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Julie,

We will miss you and wish you nothing but the best!

As someone who almost missed a past DLV event due to a serious health issue, I know exactly how you feel.

We'll be looking forward to having you with us again in 2016 for the 20th. annual DLV.

For those of you who don't know who Julie is, she's one of our longest-time members, going way back into the 1990s. She is one of those responsible for getting the golf match integrated with DLV way back when.

We won't even see those. Items addressed to the forum don't go to a regular "inbox" or anything like that but to a special process. If you want a photo posted, send it to me personally and I'll post it where all can see.

Julie,

I wish you the very best as you work to kick the ass of this cancer.

I remember you well, not just from DLV, but from some of my very first
visits to Las Vegas where my wife and I enjoyed an afternoon lunch and
later an evening with the TUG group.

My family has been face to face with cancer and it is a stupid,
uncompromising bastard that moves into your life and assumes it's the
one in control. But you can maintain the upper hand and stay as positive
as possible knowing you have a special place in the hearts of many. I'm
pulling for you.

And you know what? When you're done with the chemo and have beaten the
cancer, we won't care if you look 150, just come on over for a hug.

Sarah
