Ditto on the 2 room keys idea. Not sure I like the "hiding" one in the hall. Now I'm going to check hallways to see of other people have been doing this. Maybe I'll rearrange their stuff when they are gone. LOL.

I've planned my DLV trips like a military invasion, locating each event on a map before leaving home, I've even printed out floor plans of casinos so that I know where to meet. Those places are DESIGNED TO CONFUSE YOU so that you can't find the exit and stay to gamble longer.

I'm a big fan of Zip lock bags and cell-phone photos or even screen-shots to use as reminders.

Not too uncommon. My first year, I parked in a garage and walked to PF
Changs. Afterwards, I rode around with Sarah. At the end of the night we
entered the parking garage from a different direction. What I didn't
know, being the newbie, was that there were multiple, consecutive
garages that looked identical. Once I didn't see my car where I thought
it would be, disorientation took control. So we spent about an hour or
so driving around with me clicking on my fob's panic alarm until we
found it. Seems we have a common story.

I agree with Annie. The few dollars for Valet parking are well worth it
between finding open spots, finding your car afterwards, and lost time
walking back and forth. Well worth the expense when available.

Sue

Keeping up with your week and ad libbing a bit.

Here is something I did a few years back which may not appeal to everyone but it worked for me.
I copied the schedule out then cut the individual days into separate sections and stapled them together in order from Sun - Fri. So after Monday was over I tore off the 1st one etc' etc' , I find reading a piece of paper easier than calling stuff up in the phone. Honest I really do and my phone is just a phone.

I assure you all that my memory is still intact but using this method was my own very simple method of keeping up with the schedule in a way which allowed me to side shift a few times during the week and become an add on to events I had not originally planned on doing and joining new friends at their selected outings too. Outings I had not personally selected would be the part where memory would desert me and detachable single days to look at was better that the whole schedule on one piece of folded paper!

I always know what my personal itinerary is because mine is never complicated but I rarely remember times and places of the other events which I had not planned on. This kept me up with the Whole weeks events and I knew when a dinner Do had ended and if I was in the vicinity I dropped by to say Hi and have a drink or two.
I know for sure that others have missed out on a decent night out because they had not nominated something as one of their choices and subsequently they missed out on something which could have enhanced their DLV experience and they just gambled a while instead and missed the boat so to speak.

I am sure there are better ways of doing this but it worked for me with very little effort.

Katie.

One option which we've had for a few years now which seems to work well (except for T-Mobile subscribers) is schedule reminders sent in the form of a text message to a cell phone or e-mail account. These can be set up to two hours prior to the activity.

Although I started using it mainly to test it, I kind of like it and last year it did remind me a couple of times when I was otherwise distracted and could have been late. I've found it works best setting it to a 1/2 hour reminder.

As long as it works for you and gets you to where you need to be and at
the right time....I say it's good. All these ideas are amazing but
creatively fun.

Funny story about the hotel keys de-magnetized and having to go to front desk twice at 2am 'en femme'.

Four years ago I was in LV on business and added 2+ extra days to enjoy female time. I came back from last client meeting, ordered room service at 4pm, and when I finished eating went right into my full transition routine of shower, shave, flat-iron my hair, etc… to enjoy a fun Friday night out as Cathy. By 6pm I had on all my lingerie, make-up/perfume/jewelry and my long ivory satin-crepe dressing robe while I was set to do my nail polish before putting on my dress and shoes. I put all the dinner dishes on the roll-cart to put in the hallway, and was not thinking well as the auto-hinge door quickly closed behind me and locked. Oh my!

Only possible solution was to pick up the courtesy phone in the hallway, explain I was locked out of my room, and security came up to let me in. I did my best girlie smile, demure voice "thank you" with my thin robe not providing a lot of cover, and I thought for sure he would ask to confirm my male name registered for that room, but he simply opened the door and let me in, and tried to not stare at me (I hoped it was because he saw me as a woman caught in an embarrassing moment in her robe).

Once inside, I decided I would always have one room key in a soft felt sheath tucked inside my lace-top thigh highs so if I ever lost my purse, I could always get in my room. I can laugh now when I think back on that, but to this day I still keep a room key in my stockings.
