Activity Highlight: Club Surrender at the Encore

Postby Valorie » Tue Mar 04, 2014 3:29 pm

So imagine it's the end of DLV, you've just had a fantastic week eating, talking, dancing around town. You've just spent two hours dancing away at Paris, but you just don't want the night to end. You don't want What you do?

You go to Club Surrender! Now that the family experiment is officially over, Vegas is rapidly becoming a clubbing town - and Club Surrender at the Encore is one of the nicest there is. We will be enter the club at midnight. My name will be on the VIP list, so if you want to get in for free you need to come with me (otherwise $30). I can bring up to 10-20 guests.

I will be leading a group over from Dancing at Paris but we will officially meet in the lobby of the Wynn at 11:50pm. The club is located half-way between the Wynn and the Encore towers. The atmosphere is amazing (checkout the 360 photos below). On this night, they will have DJ Grandtheft spinning the records (https://soundcloud.com/grandtheft). Warning: the drinks are pricey - expect to pay $10-20 - though you don't have to drink. If you are really lucky at the slots, perhaps you could go for their $10,000 Ono cocktail, complete with a gold, diamond, and pearl necklace :)! This club is very mainstream so dress nice or they will not let you in.

I won't do an official signup, if someone wants to come they should talk to me during the week. I want to make sure I can connect with everyone personally to get them in. The obvious times would be at the Pole Dancing class, the Fantasy Ball, or Farewell dinner.

Hi Valorie,

Can't wait to see you again. I do have a question about Club Surrender. Have you gotten a feel for whether we will be warmly welcomed there? I know a few girls tried to go to Tryst several years ago and it was not a pretty sight. I'd love to go if they are okay with us being there.

Club Surrender was originally recommended to me by Pole Fitness Studio. They can get us in to almost any club in Vegas including Pure where we went two years ago (http://polefitnessstudio.com/clubs-pools/). I much prefer Surrender and I think it has a better vibe. I haven't been to Tryst.

So last year, we went there as a group of 4 (me, Cami, Dayna, and Stacy) and had a blast. You can see one of Stacy's pictures of us here: http://www.geekbabe.com/dlv/dlv2013/ima ... 964-l1.jpg. Yeah, this the most mainstream place we will be going all week - nothing else is even close. The place will be buzzing on a Friday night with a young 20-30 something crowd, but everyone is there just to have fun and enjoy the music - not to make a scene. However this is why I want to check in with each person personally to make sure they are comfortable before we enter the club. While I can get more people in, I am aiming more for a group of 8-12. I think I can herd about that many cats.

This place is beautiful. There is an indoor part of the club where everyone is dancing and the DJ is spinning. Then there is a outdoor pool-side section where you can escape to talk and hang out. When we arrive the main music set will still be blasting, but it will probably quiet down a little later on.

Knowing you Nicole, I think you would really enjoy this club. I'm excited to see you again this year, I missed you last year.

Hi again Valorie,

Thanks for the response. However I do have to razz you a little. I was there last year. I even did the pole dancing lessons (not too gracefully but not too bad for my age) and met your wonderful spouse. I did not make the scavenger hunt though which I did miss after we were on the same team for the inaugural event. Remember the Power Exchange sign?

Anyway, I will try to be glamorous enough to fit in at Surrender even if I can't fit in with the twenty-somethings.

See you soon!

Of course I remember hanging out at the Power Exchange (http://www.geekbabe.com/dlv/dlv2012/ima ... g-0106.jpg :) )- that was before I started practicing upside down on a pole on a regular basis. Now we will never get to go inside. Sometimes all the DLVs blend together in my head as to who was there and what we did. The other Nikki is the one who missed 2013. I still think you will enjoy Surrender. Are u going to be able to scavenge and pole dance again this year?
