Thanks to all:
Big thanks go out to the organizers and volunteers whose efforts went
into producing our highly-successful 24th. event!
Thanks to well over 100 attendees, without whom DLV would not be
possible!
We now begin our follow-up, and this mailing details how you can help
to wrap things up, finish out the current DLV year, and take the first
steps toward Diva Las Vegas 2022.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Please take the DLV 2021 Follow-Up Survey:
While your memories of the event (hopefully good) are fresh in your
mind, please take a few minutes to give us some very valuable evaluation
and feedback on this year's event.
This year's survey is briefer than some in past years. The section
where each activity is rated for "comfort" has been retired and replaced
with an optional fill-in block for comments on comfort at our
activities, or lack of same.
Please visit this url:
https://divalas.vegas/2021survey.html
We truly appreciate everyone's attendance, participation, and feedback
on the event as a whole and the individual activities.
The survey should take about five minutes to complete.
Please take the survey only once, but with one exception. If you wish
to add (additional) textual comments in any of the comment spaces,
please re-visit the above URL, skip all of the checkboxes, and enter
your new additional comments, suggestions, etc.
If you attended as a couple or group, please have each person fill out
the survey individually.
If there are any questions or concerns about the survey, please let us
now.
The survey will remain open through the month of November.

Call For Photographs:
We are fortunate to have the largest and most complete collection of
photos of any of the major TG events, reflecting our first 23 years!
Of course, we wish to continue the tradition for our 2021 event.
We're asking those who attended and took photos to please submit them
for our collection. The Call For Photos is open now and will remain
open through the month of December.
. . . . .
Here are several ways you can submit the photos:
1. Re-visit your Attendee Information Portal. (This is the link that
you received shortly after you registered. If you misplaced this, just
reply to this mailing and we will resend it.) You will now see the
"Upload Photos" option. Click on the button and select the photos on
your computer to upload. With most browsers you can upload multiple
photos in one action. We have a new simple drag-and-drop option this
year.
2. E-mail. Simply attach your photos (any reasonable number to one or
more messages) and e-mail to: dlv@divalas.vegas or just reply to this
mailing.
You can use a .zip, .tar, etc. file if you like, but it's not necessary.
3. FTP. If you wish to use this method, write in and we'll give you the
login credentials.
4. Snailmail. You can send prints, a CD/DVD, a USB stick, or whatever.
If you want to do this, write in, we'll send you the snailmail address.
. . . . .
As for size of the photos, the bigger the better, of course but the
default size coming out of most digital cameras is fine. To be of
meaningful size, they should be 500 pixels on the longer side at
minimum.
If you don't know anything about pixels and .tar and .zip, don't worry,
just send them in!
Photos taken with a phone are fine as long as they are clear and crisp
and of the minimum size above.
As for quality and adjustments, we have automated batches that normalize
size, brightness, and contrast.
Most photos taken with a reasonable quality digital or film camera or
smart phone present very well. If sending in prints, plain ordinary drug
store mini-lab prints scan and present quite well.
. . . . .
Please read this section very carefully:
Prior to placing the photos on line for the public to see, we allow
those who attended to review them. Everyone who attended has a
reasonable number of no-questions-asked "NO WAY!" deletions for any
photographs in which they appear.
Those who attended will also be able to recommend photos they like
with a "Like" button, which indicates that they find the photo to be
appealing and recommend it for the final DLV 2021 follow-up pages.
Here's the way all of this works.
As soon as we get the attendance reconciled, everyone who attended will
receive a link to the photo staging area. Those who attended will be
able to review the photos as they come in and, as noted above, mark them
for deletion or recommend them for the final DLV 2021 pages.
. . . . .
Now, as to when the photos will be on line for all to see ...
Here's the planned timing.
We'll keep the Call For Photos open through the month of December. We
will keep the staging area open for review until February 1, after which
we will start composing the final DLV 2021 follow-up pages. Target date
for roll-out of the pages will be in February of 2022.
Everyone can help move things along by following up on attendance
confirmations promptly and getting the photos in ASAP.
If there are any questions or concerns on photos, please let us know.

Call For Volunteers:
First of all, we wish to thank all who worked on DLV 2021 for their
efforts in producing a very successful and highly-enjoyed event! Without
our many dedicated volunteers, Diva Las Vegas could not happen!
. . . . .
All of those great times you just had were made possible because
somebody stepped forward and made those activities happen!
Planning and organization of DLV is done mostly on line via e-mail.
It's interactive and participatory. Volunteers form what we call the
DLVORG group.
We will be starting up the 2021-2022 volunteer group shortly.
The DLVORG group is not at all closed or exclusive. With very rare
exception, it's open to anybody who expresses interest in helping out
with DLV.
DLVORG people participate at the decision-making level, the organizing
and planning level, and at the nuts-and-bolts level.
All of the activities that happened at DLV 2021 were "adopted" by one or
more of our volunteers, who took the necessary steps to make them
happen.
If you want to do your part to make a great thing even better, to give
back what DLV has given to you, and help to run an event that has
literally changed lives, please step forward!
(Those of you who filled out the volunteer form as part of the DLV
follow-up survey do not need to take any more action.)
To volunteer, please do one of the following:
Visit the URL:
https://divalas.vegas/dlvvol1.html
Fill out the screen and check a few things, click SUBMIT, and you're on
your way!
Alternatively, simply send a brief e-mail message to dlvorg@divalas.vegas
and state you wish to volunteer. (Or, just reply to this mailing and
state that you wish to volunteer.)
Please include a sentence or two stating how you are most interested in
helping out. Anything general or specific is perfectly fine. Anything
from one sentence to a book length manuscript will be ok.
We're not asking for any kind of a major time or effort commitment on
your part. All we ask is that each volunteer organize or assist with
one activity. That's it.
If you're a bit shy, that's fine. We'll find something for you where
you don't have to go cold-calling vendors or anything like that.
And yes, out-of-the-box thinking is encouraged! As you know, we're not
limited to the things that traditionally happen at TG events, and we're
certainly not limited to those which have already happened at DLV.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Please stand up and be counted:
We realize that not everyone had the opportunity to officially check in
during our recent event.
If your name is on this list and you did attend at lease one Diva
Las Vegas activity during our recent event ("participation, however
slight" at minimum), please reply to this mailing and please let us
know that you were indeed present.
Your cooperation is appreciated. Thanks.

Please rate our vendors:
While your experiences are fresh in mind, please take a few minutes to
rate the various facilities we used for DLV, including your hotel and
the places you may have visited on your own time.
Please take a few minutes to visit our "BIG LIST" here"
https://divalas.vegas/vendors/
Our Big List is one of our most "hit on" web pages, and many who
attended our events first found out about us by hitting our Big List
after searching for TG Friendly merchants and vendors in the LV area.
All of the new venues we used for DLV 2021 should now appear on the
list. If you wish to add any additional vendors, please use the
appropriate link at the above URL.
. . . . .
One way all of you can help us out is to take a good look at the Big
List, particularly those vendors whose status is unknown post-Covid,
which are marked with an orange light. If you know of the status of any
of those marked with the orange light (open? closed permanently? to be
reopened? etc.) please let us know by simply leaving a comment for that
particular vendor.
Also, if you notice any errors on the Big List, such as a facility which
has closed, moved, or has been renamed, please call it to our attention
by leaving a comment under that particular vendor.

Things to come:
The big burning question asked at this years event was the timing for
events to come, particularly DLV 2022, and specifically if it will be
held in the spring of 2022, which has been the usual and customary
season for our events pre-Covid, or if we will be holding the 2022 event
in the fall?
The decision (spring or fall?) will be up to the volunteers to decide,
but you can provide your input. There are some scheduling-related
questions on our post-event survey at the link above which specifically
address this.
