I would attend but it wouldn't be my first choice.

In addition, I get back to Utah from Vancovuer only late on Thursday so
finding something appropriate to wear could be a challenge. Not a big
one, though.

Hi to All

I totally agree with most about that If we are going to spend 110
Dollars for a gala night I would want a nice sit down dinner. There is
plenty of places that can hold a nice gala for that.

I used to set parties in Vegas for many years but I no longer have my
travel Business.

As to hotels we have stayed at the palace station for about 39+ tax a
night if booked on line. I am sure if some one would contact the hotel
party manager that if there was some approximate count. I have been to
many and it would be a wonderful way to end the week and I never paid
over 45 a person

i would very most likely attend the "as proposed" event. having spent
only 3 weeks (of my entire life) in Las Vegas (i.e. DLV 2007-09), i do
not pretend to know what is available at what $$$$, so i defer to those
who have more practical knowledge.

a "formal dress-up" event is attractive to me. the $$ suggested is
acceptable to me, even if not to others who know moreabout LV than i do
(what do i know -- more expensive than mcburgers, but what good is a
long dress at a drive-thru.)

i would likely be able to provide "designated driver" service for those
of us who may require it, unless the activity is walking distance from
my own quarters. (it is also my intention to stay several days past DLV
so as to watch LV51's baseball.) so i seem to cast in with the "yes"
contingent on this proposal. (if it doesn't happen, then something else
is possible, of course.)

Hello, My response to the high end cost of 50-60 dollars is a big "NO".

In all my years of traveling I've never run across a meal worth that
price yet. A dinner and a social event would suit me just fine. _

I'll be attending the Ending Event. A couple of comments...

Trying to book a venue that will accommodate a group as diverse as ours
is a challenge. Those of us who are comfortable out and about in the
general public must also consider our sisters (and brothers) who are
not.

And yes, $50-60 for a meal may sound expensive, but this is not just
about a meal. This is about us having a time to be with others who share
our particular love of life. This is about reinforcing friendships
started or renewed during the week. This is about being able to let our
guard down for a short time and just be who we are.

To paraphrase a popular ad campaign... Dinner, $20; entertainment, $25;
Being with people you care about, PRICELESS.

Possibly Yes, with concerns:

First is the venue, I have heard mumblings that this might be at the
Italian American club in Las Vegas. I attended an event there last
year, and while the meeting room was adequate, the food was absolutly
TERRIBLE! AWEFUL!.

Considering my first comment, unless the bar was included the proce of
$55.00 is way over the top. For $110.00 a couple we could go to almost
any resturant in Vegas for that price. I am sure there are a lot of
places given the current economic climate in vegas that would provide a
much better venue then the Italian American Club. So if that's where it
is, my answer is No, if the venue changes then Possible Yes.

For $110.00 a couple I would expect good food with several drink
tickets, and some good dancing to a good band or good DJ.

Times are hard and we can do better than that.

Respectfully,

Sabrina
