Michelle,
Have you been to ADAM yourself? I saw an online reference in a Las
Vegas journal article that described ADAM as an after-hours very
late-night event on Tuesdays. That didn't sound right, so I called them
and listened to their recording (they weren't open yet) and they
indicate that for ADAM (as most nights) their doors open at 11 PM with
free drinks until midnight. with house music on one dance floor and
hip-hop on another. Since I personally define after-hours as starting
at like 4 AM and going until sunrise, this isn't after-hours to me, but
is instead normal hours for a dance club.
For those who wonder about SRO, some pix of SRO club people can be found
at http://www.coolvegas.com/sropics.htm
Here is the SRO entry from Las Vegas City Life Web site (you always
wonder how old these things are):
Club SRO Weekly Events: "Classic" with Power 88 (old school funk): Every
Thu, 9p-3:30a; "PHAT" (R&B & hip-hop): Every Fri; "Mambo Night": Every
Sat, 10:30-sunrise; Hip-Hop Afterhours with DJ Smooth C: Every Sat.
night, 4a-dawn; Ladies' Night/New Music Night: Every Wed, 11p-4a; DJ
Hollywood: Every Sun; "Alternative Dance and Mixer (ADAM)" featuring the
"Glamour Boys," DJ Jonathan spinning Top 40, hip-hop, disco and techno,
DJ David Christian spinning techno, trance and break beats and open
sign-ups for female impersonators: Every Tue. Hip-hop, R&B, salsa and
house music. Open seven days a week. 1700 E. Flamingo Rd. 796-1136.

I definitely saw numerous references at several Web sites to ADAM as a
gay/alternative night, so it seems to be clearly known that way. Of
course, I saw many more references to Club SRO that didn't even mention
ADAM, so I would expect straights to also stumble in. Michelle, what
have you seen on the nights you've attended?
Hugs,
