Finding places, getting around ...

Hello

I am planning on being at pinkfest. I like the schedule lineup. I do
have a slight problem with the places, I am not all that familiar with
the rat race in Chicago, it would be nice if we could have some
addresses as to where the places are. This way I can program them in my
GPS.

Follow these links. We're using this year's Pinkfest to test out a new interactive schedule system for DLV and it allows you to get a good map view of activity locations.

Let's try this out here and we'll use the Chicago Chop House dinner on Wednesday as an example.

First of all, bring up the main interactive schedule here (right-click to bring up in a new window or tab):

This is an early version of the interactive schedule, not that pretty, but stable and seems to work well. You'll see the Pinkfest activities in tabular form.

Look for the Chicago Chop House dinner on the top row, 7:00pm on Wednesday. Click on the highlighted link in the box. This will bring up the details (again, not very pretty at this time) for that particular activity.

Note that among the activity details will be a link in the "Location" field. Click on that and it will "drill down" into the venue details.

This will now display the street address, transit hints, parking notes, etc. Note that there is another link in the "Map it" field. Click on that link and it will bring up the Google map for the venue.

If you want turn-by-turn directions, you can use the "Get Directions" button on left side by the photo. Note that in the photo, the Chicago Chop House building does appear on the right, on the north side of the street.

We're still developing this and shaking this down, but it does appear to work quite well at least for the locations we've tested.

Try it, you'll like it!

This is great if you have internet access. I was hopeing for a list I
could print out because I am not sure I will have internet access where
I will be. I plan to be staying at a place about 30-40 miles away, it
