I'm responding to a few items here in one response ...
>Club Krave on Wednesday night is a regular gathering time for
>the Island Girls. ... There is always a group there, it is
>inexpensive, everyone is welcome and might not be a bad
>pre-Pinkfest gathering spot.
I kinda like this idea. :) I know we discussed it before.
>You could still do an early dinner downtown and take a taxi
>or metra train out to Blue Island.
Ya know, now that you brought this up, I might retract my
suggestion that we do Chicago Chop House on Wednesday
rather than Sunday. We could do something more casual on
Wednesday for dinner or even dinner on one's own, then
do the Pre-Pink thing with the Island Girls.
I'm all for it. How does that sound, everybody?
I would want to check the Metra schedule for the return
trip, as I know some Metra lines have spotty or no inbound
service in the later evening.
>Rori's Halloween party is fun and will probably have more
>people on Saturday night than TRANcinema night. Similar
>to last year there will be a lot of crossdressers that
>only get out on Halloween while the Center will have a
>more diverse group but smaller.
It might be best to do a two-track schedule for Saturday,
which would be a first, IIRC, for Pinkfest. I know some
will want to do Rori's thing and others will want to do
the TranCinema thing.
>TRANcinema night is at 5:30 pm. Personally, I am planning
>to go to TRANcinema night.
I'm also leaning toward the TranCinema thing, followed by
Quality Social Time, of course. :) I really don't have a
driving need to do the H'ween thing, but if that's what the
gang wants to do, I'll most likely go along.
>Any thought on going to Big Chicks on Saturday night after
>the movie probably around 8ish? It is about six blocks from
>the Center on Halsted. It looks inexpensive and fun...burgers
>and bar food on the menu... http://www.bigchicks.com/
Yes!
I first heard of Big Chicks before Pinkfest was even a
twinkle in anybody's eye, but I've never been there. I'm
for it. :) My only concern is that it might be somewhat
crowded and zooey by the time TranCinema lets out.
. . . . .
>Wednesday, October 20 Pre-Gathering
>6 p.m. Happy Hour, Chicago Chop House,
The more I think of it, I'm inclined to retract my suggestion
for CCH on Wednesday and go with Island Girls, then do CCH
on Sunday.
>Thursday, October 21
>11:30 a.m. Lunch, Ed Debevic's,
/me will be there. :)
>2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Makeup & Fashion Advice, Janna's Studio,
Again, sounds good, noting the corrected address.
>6:30 p.m. Happy Hour, Winberie's Restaurant, 151 North
>7:30 p.m. Dinner, Winberie's Restaurant, RSVP Required
I'm always up for this. :)
>Drinks and Social Time, Velvet Rope, 728 Lake Street,
Again, sounds good. This year hopefully I will not fade so
early in the evening. :)
>Friday, October 22
>11:30 a.m. Lunch, Gino's East,
/me will be there ... :)
>1:00 p.m. Shopping on the Magnificent Mile, on your own
Second track: Power Nap! :)
>7:00 p.m. Doors Open, Dinner and Show at 8:15 p.m. Tommy Guns,
This sounds like fun! Count me in!
>Saturday October 23
>11 a.m. Bruch, Ann Sather's, 909 West Belmont Avenue,
>1 - 3:00 p.m. Makeovers and hair help, Rachael's Salon,
These sound good to me. I'll be at both.
>Sunday October 24
Lunch is missing.
I might suggest Maggiano's, again. :)
>11 - 4 p.m. Tour of Museum of Science and Industry,
I haven't done MSI for several years. (We did it at the very
first Pinkfest in 2001.)
However (comma) I'm somewhat reluctant to commit to this,
knowing what my energy level is on a Sunday afternoon following
an intense Saturday evening. I would like to decide this, for
myself that is, in real time. :)
>6 p.m. Happy Hour, Chicago Chop House, 60 West Ontario
>7 p.m. Dinner, Chicago Chop House, RSVP required
Count me in. CCH is one of my favorite places, anywhere.
>9:00 p.m. Following dinner, drinks at Grape Street Piano Bar,
Again, count me in! :)
Comments, gang? :)
