Just my two cents: I appreciate the conflict with SCC and the idea of
keeping DLV and Pinkfest six months apart. I love Chicago but
wouldn't recommend visiting in late October if you have a chance to
go earlier.
I think the best time of the year to visit Chicago is mid-September -
it is warm and sunny with all kinds of outdoor events going on. The dog
days of summer are over. You get to see why it really is a world-class
city. But October is one of those transitional months.
Early October starts out around 70 degrees and sunny. But the gray
skies, short days and chilly temps come in a hurry. It dips into the
40s-50s before the end of October in Chicago. Definitely not the high
tourist season.
