The projected dates are just perfect, in my humble opinion; I've been
stuck in this LV desert for 12 years now and I know the weather patterns
pretty well, they are highly predictable. Holding DIVA any sooner would
put us in a blustery, rainy, windy season, and any later would risk the
ensuing godawful hot summer. The dates are really good and I'm sooo
looking forward to it; It will be my first. Love and fondness to you
all.

Actually, I've seen it rain like a mother in March, enough to
turn the lower level of the IP parking garage to a river in
about 15 minutes!

I've also seen it snow in Las Vegas -- twice! :)

Most definitely there is snow in Vegas. I have been living in Vegas for
almost 7 years ad have experienced two "Major" storms. Both have been
in 4-5 inch category. This is major for Las Vegas. What was funny is
to watch the locals. Decked out in a heavy jacket with shorts and
having absolutely no idea as to how to walk and drive in this type of
weather.

In both case however the snow was gone by the next morning.

Yup, me too, got up one morning in early
Dec and there was 2 inches on the cars
at Main Street Station ...it was already melting
at 7am. Enough for some to make small
snowmen in the parking lot.

It was dropping into the low 30s the night
earlier, but when I had asked the casino
workers that night, they denied it would
snow and were sure it wasn't cold enough
to snow, but rain instead...wrong!

Had to buy a heavier jacket... the typical
windbreaker flannel jacket was too thin
for the wind and wind chill to walk around
fremont st and the strip.

Been there in heavy rain too... again parts of
downtown fremont st area was a big pool
covering the street and sidewalks, and flows
of water causing major erosion gaps on the
edges of the interstate on and off ramps.

Been to Mt Charleston also for some
skiing in March. A 45 min drive? or
something like that from LV... we took
the greyhound bus tour.

I know it's a rare event, but it does happen once in awhile. The
southwest desert is prone to an occasional covering of snow. I know
because we here in Tucson get snow once in awhile.......Brrrrrr!!!

Hey Rosada,

If you start rolling a snowball now, and head it toward Vegas, and get
here by the time DIVA starts, it'll be big enough to cool off the
swimming pool and ice down everybody's cocktails too. See ya then.
