It shouldn't be confusing.
Out of our 80-some activities planned for the week, 45 of them (at last count) require some kind of sign-up, headcount, or additional action. To even attempt a manual sign-up of 170+ attendees to 45 activities would be pure bedlam!
We roll it all up into one screen and send a link to each registered attendee.
Yes, some of the activities have limited capacity and it's first come first served, or in this case first signed first served.
Returnees do have an advantage on the limited capacity items since the sign-up mailings are sent out in batches by roster order number and returnees tend to have lower roster numbers. Active volunteers have more of an advantage since they will be testing the activity sign-up system prior to roll-out.
This year we've tried to "right size" activity capacity. In many cases (such as in Sara's note) limits have been lifted totally or expanded. Macy's Makeovers have no capacity limits. Both of our major gatherings (Monday and Friday) have no capacity limit. Both of our "anchor" activities (Fantasy Ball and Night of the Soiled Doves) have no capacity limit. The only items expected to fill up are such things as some of the smaller dining options, the Bar Rescue Tour, and a few of the Bare Escentuals Makeover sessions.
