Mini DLV.

Postby Katie Wilson » Tue May 01, 2012 8:07 am

Hi Girls.
First off I would like to say that I once again had really terrific time meeting you all and generally having fun in the very best place the world has to offer for T girling around in great clothes.

I always feel like getting back on a plane and returning the next day after I arrive home from a DLV. We have some marvelous people who work tirelessly to make it good for everyone else and the nice thing is...I got to meet them all, Or at least most of them at That Artisan Volunteers lunch. It wouldn't happen without these great people!
By the way I Love The Artisan. It is right out there as they say.

If anyone would like to do a **very Informal Mini D L V** ( We even don't have to give it a title! ) later in the year without all the organizing and planning please let me know. Let's say after the summer is done , late September or very early October when the weather is perfect again. (It's a shade cooler then but still good for Spaghetti strap dresses and open toed shoes etc' ) Getting together with such a great group of women again would be really nice. I can go on my own of course or with a friend or two who I can coerce into spending a few extra $$$$ mid year but Dining and/or drinks at a Vegas lounge with a group of girls Especially this group makes me smile and that's good for the soul and very good for the taking of piccies thereof as we all know. *Wink*

Just thought I'd Ask to see if anyone feels the same way I do! Believe me this is not one of those...."I wish I was back on vacation" things. The feeling lasts all year for me till' I get to do DLV all over again. Yes, Every Time!

Katie, that sounds like a great idea. I always thought that there should be at
least two DLV a year for those that need another dose of fun with the girls.
This just might be the answer, Katie. Thanks for the idea. I like the fact
that it would be informal and no organizing. Just show up and hook up. If I
don't get my full time teaching job in the fall I'm almost certain I can join
you and whomever decides to make it.
Hugs,Rosada

Hi Katie,

Check out the Be-All convention in the Chicago area, I think that kicks
in in October. Reservations are required and there are multiple pricing
packages, depending on how many days you are attending, and what
functions you are interested in. When I get back to work, I've been off
almost 2 years due to surgeries and injuries, and can cave up some cash,
I plan on going.

I think the web is beall.com, I Google'd it to find it originally.

Hi all
Thanks for the suggestions girls but Vegas is where I love to do my thing!
Maybe someday I will also do Pinkfest too but I really love being in Vegas as a woman. It is the perfect place for me. I know the town quite well now so I can get around without any trouble and it also helps when I don't have to pay for a Hotel, whereas in Chicago I would have to do that and there's always the added attraction of a small bit of gambling close at hand in L/V too.( Just an elevator ride away )

If there's anyone else besides Rosada and I interested in doing a mini week of girly outings on the dates I mentioned or just 3 or 4 days off and on then please let me know.

This is as good a place as any to gather a few interested parties and if there are enough people we can talk via e mail at a later time and set something up.

I would be up for another DLV event later this year, and the lack of structure or scheduling doesn't bother me at all. The best DLV I had was 1998, where there wasn't any schedule or signup.

Hi Girls.
I thought we might try some places which have not been used in previous DLV's, This way we can test out some new options for the Big event in the Spring while we are out doing our thing..

Has anyone ever tried Battista's Italian Restaurant one block behind Bills Gambling Hall? They advertize free wine with supper entree's and I have heard that it is a really nice place to dine and if it works out well and is right for the gang I will hostess a night out there for next DLV

In case anyone is wondering, I don't intend this as a suggested new new date for DLV, it will Just be a get together for those who want to do it all again later in the year but in an informal way.

If there are any other ideas for evenings or day outings please let us know in this column.

I want to try out the German-Bavarian restaurant named the Haufbrauhaus on the
corner of E. Harmon & Paradise. Has anyone been there? I'm looking at the
review right now and I like what I'm reading already. Here's what one reviewer
wrote: By the sound of it, I think it might even accommodate our large group
for the Welcome Celebration! So get your lederhosen ready.

The Hofbrduhaus Las Vegas is the first authentic German-Bavarian restaurant in
Las Vegas. The restaurant is the first replica of the worlds most famous beer
hall from its hand-painted ceilings to its food and drink. The beer is brewed
in Munich under the 400-year-old purity law and shipped fresh to Las Vegas.
Hofbrdu draft beers are: premium lager, wheat beer, dark beer and seasonal
beers. Bavarian charm and live music abound, and guests can savor schnitzels,
sausages, Sauerbraten and pretzels. With its beer hall and air-conditioned
Biergarten (beer garden), its Oktoberfest every day. Hofbrduhaus Las Vegas
also features live music nightly. In addition, take-out service is available.
Groups are invited, and Hofbrduhaus Las Vegas can accommodate parties up to
1,000.
