I don't know where Graves is, but if this is the one on west Sahara, this is the one we were going to use until they said they could not handle us.

As I think more about it, this was probably back in 2010, and was our "Plan B" when the Hard Rock reneged on what was supposed to be a done deal for our 2010 WC.

Our "Plan C" ended up being the Firefly Plaza, which was an overwhelming success!

Who was it you spoke to, specifically?

The person I spoke to was one of the Aronsohn brothers (Ron? John?) and at first he sounded interested. He then phoned back (I somewhat recall that this was after speaking to staff) and said that they just would not be able to handle the group. He did invite us to use the place for smaller groups.

I'll bring this up in ORG. If they now think they can handle us, they will certainly be in the running.

Hi Annie,

I think Angie is referring to the Blu Ox on West Sahara west of the
Escapes lounge. The owner is Ron and has stated interest when I spoke
with him last year. They do have a seating capacity of 80 I believe but
have a large back private room that holds more, not really that private
as its all a glass wall with patio doors that open.

Angie had spoke to Dee, I believe she is the day side manager but Ron
would be the one to speak to. We do "pit stops" daily while in Vegas as
well drinks are $3.50 all the time and they serve a reasonable priced
bar type food menu but also offer many home cooked specials, the menu
and drinks are similar to years ago when we visited the old location.
The brother who owned the older one was a hoot, always commenting how
beautiful all the ladies were.

I still have his email and phone number as he was a bit saddened when he
retired and wanted a few of us to say hello, nice guy.

I'm sure that was the guy I spoke to. As I said, he sounded interested but backed off due to concerns about capacity.

Actually, a good thing about the now-closed Blue Ox on Valley View was that they were a bit short on seating space. It kept our people mixing and circulating. :)

We'll definitely bring it up in ORG, and if someone chooses to circle back to them, they would probably be a viable candidate for our 2014 Welcome Celebration.

I know he liked having the gang there. I remember during one of the SBS Social functions he came out and expressed his appreciation for our business and gave an open invitation for our people to please drop in anytime.
